Too bad our uniforms don't feature UL or Louisiana as much as they should, and the coloring of red on black is really hard to read. Hell, we dropped 31 on Troy last week and their the second best in the league. Fact is, we gave up some big plays to Troy last week, but come to think of it, we were really hurt by the loss of our biggest Run Stopper in Mike Moore and our starting Safety in Lamar Morgan, both of which will be back this week. UL's offense will have about an average day, and UNT's offense will have an above average day, but when their offense hasent scored more than 14 in any game all year long, thats not saying alot.

I think amidst the ton of beer I hope to chug as long as I'm off work, we will win this game against Troy. Their offense is really, REALLY bad. I think we'll work Babb back in, with every third drive with desormeaux as to not bring Babb back in too fast and hurt him. I think our defense will rise up again this week and hold them, and for the first time this season, we get on the good side of the turnover battle. In the end, we win this game 28-10 for homecoming.

Good job cajuns, you seem to have MT's number.

Great defensive effort. See what happens when you play 4 quarters!

What has to happen: ASU loses two more, ULM loses 1, and then the season Finale vs. ULM could be the decider!!!!!!! Alot has to happen, but at least there is still hope.

My prediction: Louisiana wins 3 out of 4 and go 5-6, which is still an improvement from last year, and finish second in the belt.

Hopefully im wrong and we win all four remaining games, it is not impossible.

Setback cuts Cajuns

Quote:This one hurt, and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns weren't afraid to show it.

The Cajuns slipped to 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in Sun Belt Conference play with Thursday night's 39-36 loss to Arkansas State on a last-second field goal, and the painful truth was the Cajuns did themselves in as much as the Indians did.

"The only ones who stopped us tonight were ourselves," said freshman quarterback Michael Desormeaux, who rushed for 174 yards and two scores, and threw for 97 yards, but suffered a key fourth-quarter fumble that set up a go-ahead ASU touchdown.

"This is a good football team," he added of the Indians. "You never expect to rush for 400 yards against somebody (UL had 457). We just executed. When we do that, we do good things."

The game could have been a breakout one for Desormeaux, who suffered through a 6-of-18 first start a week ago and converted an amazing 14-of-19 third-down conversions against ASU.

"Last week, I just had a bad game," Desormeaux said. "I felt that's not who I am. But I just went back to practice and back to work. The whole team did that.

"They didn't give up on me. They stayed with me. This team fought their butts off, on offense and defense. It's just unfortunate to lose it like this."

"Other than our two lost fumbles, I felt we did a good job offensively," coach Rickey Bustle said. "The offensive line played well and the backs ran hard. And Michael made some big plays on that last drive."

Desormeaux mounted an 18-play, 80-yard drive in response to ASU taking a 36-29 lead, forging a 36-36 tie with just 52 seconds remaining.

"Mike got a lot of confidence early, and obviously we did a good job on third and fourth-down plays," Bustle said. "We played hard in the fourth quarter. We just made a couple of big mistakes."

Little-used Josh Harrison had an impressive 87-yard rushing night that included a pair of touchdowns, coming into the battle after starter Tyrell Fenroy was knocked out in the first half and Abdule Levier was taken out following a crucial fumble.

"We work on running the ball," Harrison said. "We've been trying to establish it for a long time. We recruited a lot of running backs. If we execute the way we're supposed to, we can run on anybody."

Harrison's quickness was especially effective in the second half.

"I don't think it matters who we had in there at that point," he said. "We have a whole stable of running backs. We have two backs who are redshirting who are as good as any other back we have.

"The offensive line was on point tonight, and they stayed on point."

The anguish shown by the Cajuns heading into their locker room spoke volumes about the pain of this defeat, but somehow they'll try to regroup for a road test at Middle Tennessee on Oct. 22.

"We're going to keep working," Harrison said. "We're down a couple of games, but it doesn't matter. The harder you work, the harder it is to give up, and we're not going to give up."

It was a hard one to Take in. I was pissed for about 36 hours, and Just have got over it. Well I'm not over it, but I guess I could say, I am used to it by now. It ain't nothing I haven't seen before.

I am not sugar coating anything, but I have not given up hope yet, because we have not started conference yet. I still believe that we can win this conference.

We have the talent, and it shows at times. We lack confidence and the ability to put teams away.
That is from the bottom up, including the coaching staff. Saturday's lost against UCF was a total break down of coaching starting with the cajuns not going for it on 4th and 1, to not calling timeouts, while having 3 of them with 45 sec. left, and then deciding to call a time out with 5 sec. left while UCF's kicker misses the field goal.

I beleive in this team, and the coaches, but we have to start showing it on the field. Starting now!!!!!!!!!

Even though we lost Babb, Desormeaux showed that he is a good leader and excellent QB.
This conference is still anyones! I don't beleive the attendance will be that great on Thurs., but with a win and then hopefully a win at ASU which will be no cakewalk, we will be 2-0 in conference, with a .500 record going into the Troy game for homecoming. I beleive the crowd will come back for that game.
The city of Lafayette wants to win, and they want to support a home team!
