Paul's done a great job so far. I loved his writing at cnati.com - great move on UC's part to pick him up.

Maybe a certain "beat writer" at the local fish wrap will follow suit... One can hope.

Couldn't agree more. He's doing things like positional breakdowns and coaching interviews that Koch SHOULD be doing.

Koch should be fired. With the quality pick-up at Gobearcats, the ENQ
is terminally irrelevant. Only a total makeover by Barry Forbis (He can be reached at bforbis@enquirer.com.) will make them worth reading.

I truly believe that the Enquirer has the same problem that most newspapers do. They think they are in the ink and paper business. Even if they woke up 100% today, it is too late. They along with over 90% of the newspapers in this country will disappear in the next 10 years.

Back on topic -- great pickup Mr. Marketing! Good job!

Sad to see Josh K. leave, but I have been impressed with Paul's articles thus far. Keep up the good work Paul!

RE: New Columnist at GoBEARCATS.com
Thank you Xs 10, UCM, that Paul Dehner is now on the site.

I made the mistake today of going to the 'inquirer' site to read about UC. MWAH-HAHAHAHAHA! What a joke!

It's all about the T.O. or Huggins' unfortunate interactions with 'medicine', resulting in 4-7 broken ribs (you pick). Or, even better, reading a headline about the muskatelles on the UC BLOG SITE!!! Frankly, what UC fan gives a flying [[fill in your own expletive here]] about the xu-xus??

Seriously: does anyone there have a clue that the Big East is having a gathering in New England and, oh-by the way - the University of CINCINNATI is a part of that conference? Sadly, the 'inquirer' attitude seems: if it's not Leprechaun-ville or THEE Buckets, meh - who needs to cover?

Unbelievable.

Thanks, 'inquirer', for all the newsiness for this out-of-town UC fan!

Between GoBearcats and two of the three Bearcat pay sites, I'd say the coverage is so damn good that we don't even need to obssess about the Enquirer anymore.

I would agree with you if...

1. I was one of those who can justify spending the money on the pay sites, and

2. If the support/coverage of a local mass media outlet wasn't so important in keeping UC football on the top of everyone's minds. With competition in that regard from the Bengals, Reds and the other "local" teams (ie. UK/UL/tOSU), having the Enquirer on board with someone other than Bill Koch would be huge from a marketing and PR standpoint. Hell, compare Koch's work to that of the Enquirer's high school sports reporters, and it's not even close.

UC's marketing department does a fantastic job, don't get me wrong. It just bothers me to no end that our local paper won't get behind this school and team. And, I'm not obsessing about the issue, it's just a huge peeve of mine like it is for many other UC fans. 03-phew Sorry, that's a sore spot for me lol.
