For those of you who do not know the story I will fill you in.....When we came up with our new logo on the football field (State of NC with the Skull) the UNC brass was a little pissed because I guess they feel they are the only school in the State of NC that has the right to use a picture of the state. Well this summer we have put a new floor down in Minges and the new mid court logo is going to be the same as what we are using on the football field. This should really tick off the Whine & Cheese crowd.

I like the mid field logo but with UNC having their spin on the state in the center of the court I would have hoped we could have one upped it.

Not saying the logo isn't the most bad ass thing I have ever seen but it looks like we copied the Tarholes and we should be ahead of the curve on coolness

We have "one upped" them....Our State logo is much cooler than their lame baby blue State logo that does not even include our full state...I guess they just forgot the Outer Banks and Bouge Banks (Where my humble abode is located) were part of North Carolina.

Hey, people have co-opted ideas and concepts before and made a bigger splash with them than the folks who had them first. Oreos blew by Hydrox cookies, tablet computing by Microsoft (for the moment) being overshadowed by Apple's iPad, R. Kelly's "Down Low" making everyone forget about Brian McKnight's "On the Down Low"...

The logo is cool as hell. I like it. But is that your basketball arena? Maybe it's just the picture, but it looks REALLY small. Almost like a big high school. How many does it seat?

Awesome logo and im glad your school is using it on everything. IMO it should be your full time logo. I also thought you guys should have red in your colors ever since I saw the red no quarters flag go up 4th quarter of the ECU v UCF game. Im glad your school is taking something awesome, and using it for everything they can. Wish UCF would do that.

Yeah red would be similar to NCSU, and im sure a color change at this point of your program wouldnt go over well, but I always thought black/red would just be common sense for a pirate based team and that logo in black/red would look even more awesome.

The outline of the State of North Carolina is not the property of unc-ch. Plus our logo is a lot more detailed in its design. Putting particular emphasis on EASTERN North Carolina. The $500 million more in state funding they get should ease their pain??

When I lived in North Carolina from Jan '96 to May '98 I grew to hate North Carolina fans. They annoyed me like no others. I naturally cheered for Duke just to be anti UNC!!

Marshall fans know all to well about fans in a state where they think they are the only ones that matter. Its even worse here in WV as we are the only 2 schools.

I like it becuase it's kind of like "going pirate" all over or plundering their precious logo.

Red? Screw that. I know plenty of ECU fans (myself included) that don't wear any red ever. If we were to incorporate red into our school colors I would seriously lose my mind. The no quarter flag is fine because it incorporates pirate tradition but I don't think pirates decked themselves out in red necessarily so I don't see why we would, or how that would be more pirate like.

FYI...Minges Coliseum, which first opened in 1968, seats approx 7,500.

When full, its a very loud building.

Minges when it's packed and we're playing decent, is quite possibly the best college atmosphere I've ever attended for any sport on any campus. It is absolutely deafening. It's actually pretty nice as well, but not a whole lot of space.

7500 to 8000 is what we can fit in that place.

It's not the size that matters it's how you use it.

Cameron Indoor at Duke barely seats 9k.

In fact when it opened in 1940 it seated 7k, but it is legendary for it's atmosphere during a game.

Once we finally get basketball rolling, it will be a hot ticket.

For where we are, 8,000 is big enough.

Would love to see Minges finally live up to its potential. Maybe Lebo is the coach that can get ECU BB rolling. I usually live a plane ride away from Greenville so do not make it to many Basketball games. I did catch the Marquette game years ago and the atmosphere was unbelievable. When Minges is packed it is a lot of fun and set up like arenas should be with the college kids down low.

ECU has a better logo than UNC hands down.
(I would say one of the best mid-field/court logos in all of the NCAA.)
