Closing threads
I didn't have any problem personally with closing the thread about ASU fans, I personally had said about all I wanted to on the subject. But, why close any thread? Some may want to respond later, or maybe someone was out of town when it was posted, and they didn't get to respond to it. If Doc or any other is tired of reading it, he doesn't have to read it anymore.

Seems arbitrary.

I second that because sometimes I don't read the board for a week or so due to being busy at work or traveling. So I may add my 2 cents on a thread that may be a week or so old.

Boy looks like a missed quite a thread. I got ready to respond and it was closed. 03-banghead

There are always hot heads at any venue that you play in and especially against rivals. Now to the game, ASU was the better team most of the game but blew numerous opportunities to put the game away. No one to blame but ourselves. You've got to hit foul shots and limit those turnovers down the stretch. I did think the officials got quite picky with the fouls everytime we took it inside in the second half but we still had a chance to put the game away. Again, those are breaks every team gets during the course of the game good or bad. The biggest thing on your last shot is we didn't get in front of the guy and make him change his direction, as coach brady said it's like we parted the Red Sea to him.

Great ball game, wrong team won.

RE: Closing threads
Doc was quick to say, "For goodness sakes Kerry. Let's close this thread and move on. I think everyone's pont has been made."

Maybe it was because a ASU fan had just given Matt a compliment, saying that basically "Mouzy is a nice guy." So Doc thought that the ASU fan had said it all, and it was time to cut off the discussion.

Just again making the point that LRAlum made, that sometimes, posters aren't available to the board or a computer everyday, and when they do get around to reading the post, it's closed. The either can't comment, or have to start another thread on essentially the same subject. There may be a need to close one occasionally, but I would think it would be just in the case of possible slander, racist, or other profane remarks. Why close one at all, most just die of their own accord, although I have seen some who were make many months ago, revived when someone posts on one of the oldies. Just my opinion.

Obviously I was wrong when I thought everything had been said. I remember Kerry closing down a thread awhile back because it had gone on so long, but if folks still have something to say, have at it. Don't make me no never mind!04-cheers

RE: Closing threads
I closed the thread. I thought sure, why not? I don't do much modding anyway and the thread had seemed to run its course...but then again this is America and we don't always agree and aren't afraid to express it. So, the discussion continues in another thread.

What's the point of closing the thread? What is accomplished by closing it?

I've been asking myself that question.

RE: Closing threads
I did not close the thread. I have been watching it.

On the SBC board we have started moving thread to the smack forum if needed. I have closed a few threads on this board if they get so for off topic that it would be easier to just start a thread with what the topic has become. I am probably a little worse about deleting threads. I will delete anything that I think "crosses the line" and the line is a moving traget.

For the most part we give a lot of rope to hang yourself on here.

Any more "bannings" lately? For the most part I think our board is quite "tame" and folks rarely get far out of line.

It tells me that the Trojans probably will be looking at the south end of a north bound Wolf for several years, and perhaps our AD should invest in dust masks. When you're getting the majority of the production from your freshman class, and most of the rest from the junior and sophomore classes, you're building it the correct way, from the ground up. And you're in first place while doing it.
