lol...kentucky fans looking up old youtube on our dribble drive offense.
this poster was confused about the dribble drive motion offense. he didn't really know what it was about after watching two kentucky games. he looked our team up to see it run properly.

i have some news for this guy. the current kentucky team will never run that offense like derrick rose and company did. i think they will need a lot more cohesion and playing time together in order to perfect it.

anyhow here is the post in quotes.

"Cal is hilarious. Lol. But i just got done watching the Memphis team run the DDMO on youtube. Man they looked great with Rose attacking the basket. Alot of short jumpers and when penetration occurred, and they didnt have a shot it was either a lob or a layup. I can't wait until it clicks with our guys. We may score 150 points."

Maybe, but what good is that if the other team hits 50 treys?

another favorite off of catspause.

"Nah...i think you should worry. Stop making excuses. They've had the same amount of practice time as everyone else. After watching Memphis take Kansas to the limit, you shouldn't be satisfied with these performances. Do you all think UK is going to be the only team that improves over the course of the season???? 92 points to Sam Houston State??? Gimme a break. OVERRATED!!!!! This will be a good team, but not the worldbeater some of you would have the rest of us believe."

this season is going to be fun watching memphis and just as fun watching calipari waste so much talent. he won't make the elite eight, even though he has the talent to win it all easily.

Geez! Can we just give up on stalking UK fans, people??

We don't need to know what Kentucky fans are thinking or what Cal said or how his team did.

What the Wildcats do or say rarely has anything to do with Memphis basketball.

Even I am regret posting the SI magazine story on Pitino v. Calipari this morning! I meant to post it on the NTR board

.....exactly where this dumb thread belongs, as a matter of fact!!

It's going to be hard this first couple of months for Calipari with his ASSAASSASASASASASAAAASSSASAS. He slowly brought it in at Memphis and it took time for every player to get used to it. When Derrick arrived it was 2nd nature to all but him, and he had serious growing pains leading up to March.

Installing the whole thing fresh to the entire UK roster will be hard for them. Sadly, they'll probably have it turned on by March.

I concur, but it's going to happen no matter what this season. I'm just going to accept it instead of fighting it.

Yes but what Pastner has done on the recruiting trail is having A LOT to do with KYU basketball.

i love stalking him...i want him to fail miserably. i will be the first one to stalk that board as soon as they drop out of the top twenty.

if they ever become number one in the country and hitting on all cylinders i will never go to the board again. as long as they are struggling i am going to STALKY STALK STALK.

IMO, the reason it won't be run to perfection is b/c of the athletes. Half of the guys we're recruited by Gillispie and the other half by Cal. Both run different systems. Doesn't mean they won't adapt, and they probably will, but it probably won't be run to perfection like it was with Rose until Cal gets all of "his" players in there.

hmmm...kind of like those pastors who talk about infidelity from the pulpit and cheating on their wives at the same time.

you knew exactly what the thread was about before you read it. you have choices, but your curiosity was killing you!

Just wait till they figure out the DDM is more fantasy than offense.

Ding Ding Ding...We have a winner

Any offense that requires you to be better than the man guarding you every play in order to be successful is not an offense at all.

We never really even ran the Vance Wahlberg offense. Cal's DDM might as well be called the way have better players and better athletes offense. I will give him credit for putting the players in a postion to best utilize the superior talent and athletic ability, but that is no offense. Any offense that can be completely shut down by a zone is not a real offense. The success we enjoyed over the past four years (particularly the last three - 2005/06 was more skilled offensively) was built on being a phenomenal man to man defensive team and a very good rebounding team.
