I cannot imagine that outcome being remotely similar in a rematch. And Boise doesn't deserve a BCS bowl, given TCU. Their schedule is appalling. They need to go all Florida State on scheduling and play a 1 game at the opponent's house.

The Big 10 is terrible. How in the hell is such a bad team undefeated? Iowa is staying off my Top 25 ballot. 3 turnovers and counting.

Teams that won't play Boise should STFU when talking about their weak scheduling.

I cannot imagine that outcome being remotely similar in a rematch. And Boise doesn't deserve a BCS bowl, given TCU. Their schedule is appalling. They need to go all Florida State on scheduling and play a 1 game at the opponent's house.

Florida State was an independent back then, and at a time when independents could still get bowls... now, you have to be in a conference to get anywhere in Division I-FBS.

Ultimately, it's easy for a AQ conference team's fan to say "they don't play a tough enough schedule!" But the fact is, Boise is out asking for AQ opponent games with no returns, and no one is biting:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/ne...&type=lgns

Dan Wetzel Wrote:Boise State athletic director Gene Bleymaier is all but begging for a major opponent – any major opponent – to play his Broncos, particularly in 2011. He can hardly get his calls returned. Not by the SEC. Not by the Big Ten. Not by anyone.

Bleymaier is making a nearly unheard of offer in college football scheduling – Boise will bring its popular, high-profile, top-10 team to any stadium in any town to play any big name team in America in 2011. And they don’t have to return the date in Idaho.

So far, no one has bit.

ESPN has even become involved trying to broker a deal that will almost assuredly be nationally televised. Still no luck.

And why should a Boise State (or a Southern Miss or any other non-AQ) say to their fans, "We're only going to play 4 games at home this year, because we're playing 4 conference games on the road and 4 games against AQ teams on the road. We want you to support us, even though you won't see us but once a month unless you're willing to drive cross-country."?

You can say that if Boise played Oregon again, Oregon would win. I can claim Boise would win. The fact is, nobody knows what would happen. Nobody knows what would happen if Boise played Oregon's schedule. Or Florida's.

Taking a more personal example... can you honestly say that, if USM and Mississippi State traded places, USM would do any worse than MSU has in the SEC?

We don't know what would happen, but ultimately, if MSU somehow goes undefeated in their season, they go to the BCS National Championship game, while if USM goes undefeated, they go to the Liberty Bowl against SEC #9. (Unless we're lucky enough to be the only Non-AQ conference team to be ranked in the top 6, and even then, we'll likely be sent to one of the other BCS bowls and not the national championship.)

Ok, back to laughable scores....

Ok, back to laughable scores....

Boise State wouldn't be in this position if they played in a good conference. They went down to Athens .... and got ran out of the stadium. It's one thing to get way up and play over your head and beat a good team one week ... then put 'er in cruise for the remainder of the season. It's another to have to keep putting up at a high level week in ... week out.

And FWIW - I do support a playoff.

The UGA-Boise State game was in 2005. What bearing does that have on the 2009 season? By the same argument, Georgia Tech went 7-5 in 2005, so they shouldn't get to go to the ACC championship game this year.

The problem with the "not in a good conference" argument is that no one is offering them a chance in a good conference. The last hope for non-AQ teams is when the Big East adds 1 to 4 teams... after that all the "good conferences" will be full.

And it's the only time they've played a quality opponent from where football lives (the south). Boise State was 9-1 in the WAC that year ... and 2-3 OOC with losses to Boston College, Oregon State, and UGAg.

Sloppy play. Given WF about 60 yds in penalties including a few first downs. GT is a second half team -- so I'm not worried. GT hasn't punted in the 2nd half for over a month.

RE: Laughable Scores - Week 10
That personal foul the refs just called was a BS call. The GT guy stepped out of bounds, but there was a late whistle and he kept running. I can't fault the WF guy for knocking him down. The whistle was late, and he couldn't tell if the play was over or not...

GT should've kicked the ball on 4th down, instead of going for it. That fumble may have lost 'em the game...

Ugh. Shades of the meltdown against Wake that cost GT the 1999 Orange Bowl.

I can't watch anymore.

That was a BS grounding call on WF too. But it didn't matter. Skinner's pass got the first, and the clock stopped whe the WR went out of bounds...

RE: Laughable Scores - Week 10
GT had a lot of balls going for it on that 4th down. But it paid off big time as they score a TD after getting the first down. I wonder what was going through the WF DC's mind leaving a hole for the sneak to be successful...

GT wins 30-27

Navy is a solid team and Notre Dame is always grossly overrated, Im not sure why everyone thinks this is a laugher, I mean Navy did finally get the monkey off their back with the victory over the Irish in '07

If you look at the numbers, the recruits, the financials, everything is going ND's way. Under no circumstances should they ever lose to Navy, yet they have twice in three tries.

RE: Laughable Scores - Week 10
The Notre Dame game is a laugher because their so overrated by the media, the media kept talking about how great the Irish were all game long, and how they'd come back and win, and they didn't. That makes it f#ckin' hilarious...
