IF Hollins isn't the guy...
I have to admit, I thought Hollins did a good job last year after dingbat Iavaroni got canned and was beginning to think he couold coach. However, watching his rotations, and that play with 1.4 left in the Sacramento game where we threw a lob to Rudy Gay, I am as a lot of people are, beginning to question his ability.

Which gets me thinking, if Hollins is really a bonehead like I am beginning to think, who coaches this team? Who is the right guy who is available now?

Thoughts? I haven't a clue.

You won't find anyone available this early in the season unless you drag someone out of retirement. Even though I don't think Hollins is the guy, it would be difficult to pull the trigger on him after only five games.

Agreed, but you are 8-22 after 30 games and you are still giving up 120 a night, do you pull it then and who do you get?

We could be go winless until the all-star break and Hollins wouldn't be fired. He was never more than a glorified interim coach. The only reason he is here is because Heisley still had 1.5 years on Ivy's contract when he was fired so he wasn't going to pay 2 "real" coaches at the same time. He went out and got Hollins for cheap. At the end of this year, both contracts are up at which point Heisley will either extend Hollins to be the permanent coach or go look for another. If we would have made Dave Joerger the head coach like I wanted, we'd be in alot better shape right now :)

With the up tempo style Lionel Hollins wants to play for the Memphis Grizzlies, they really need more good players to play that style he wants. I think it is too soon to fire him, even at this point of the season unless you know someone who will say yes right now for sure.

The team has looked great on offense, and horrible on D.

I don't see how you blame the D on Hollins, it's not his fault Rudy won't guard anyone.

sit his butt on the bench...I would rather lose with Sam Young and Demarre Carroll at least trying.

Oh wait, Rudy Gay is on my fantasy team - never mind.

I wonder if Byron Scott would be interested? LOL, I am sure he has had enough of a drain with all that has been pulled from the Hornets roster.

Scott would be a great coach. He went to the Finals twice with the Nets and 2 years ago held the 2nd best records in the west at N.O.

Also, Avery Johnson, Reggie Theus, Terry Porter

Byron Scott already came from somewhere that people feel you can't win, and he had Chris Paul and David West. By almost all accounts, Heisley is not respected in the NBA. I would take Avery in a heartbeat, Terry Porter too.
