Scoring offense #2 in the MAC. With all that terrible PLAY CALLING and terrible COACHING, keep those stats to yourself they just get in the way of our biased opinions.

Win the MACC and then lets talk. The stats look great but if we don't win the MACC it means nothing.

I think idiots point to total stats and not W/L.

Poor play calling cost a game - that's awful. So...it's neat we put up numbers against awful teams.

Win games, that's the big stat. This isn't fantasy football bud.

5-3 headed toward 7-3 with a probable 8-4 an outside shot at the MCC and a bowl game. Hey bud, THAT IS NOT A FANTASY.

Yep.

And a big fat loss to Toledo. Who is an awful team - ask Miami OH.

When you lose a game because of poor coaching neat stats don't matter bud.

RE: NIU Football stats thru week 9
These stats probably speak less to the coaches and more to the individual players.

1st in turnover margin? That's a big pat on the back for our QBs (Grady and Harnish) and our backs (Spann and Brown). Protecting the football is more important than a lot of other stats that are useless - unless you are playing fantasy football.

Those stats would suggest to me we should have a better record if anything. Team stats don't really mean much when you've played Akron, Miami of Ohio, Toledo, WIU and Purdue.

I don't know how someone could watch our games and not think the coaches have done a poor job. It baffles me.

The Redzone D is great.

I'd like to see the TD% for our red zone O.

RE: NIU Football stats thru week 9
If NIU wins the MAC, I'll never speak of the Toledo game again. If you lose to Ohio and don't get a shot to beat CMU to win the West, the Toledo loss becomes even bigger. It's true that we are on our way to 7-3 and probably 8-4 with a bowl, but that doesn't change the fact that Toledo was the worst coached game I have ever seen by an NIU team.

The strings on the fiddle are getting worn thin.

If NIU finishes reg season 8-4 with a bowl bid, I would NOT be surprised if Kill is voted MAC COY.

However, even that would not shut up the critical experts for when you own a drum you continue beating it to death.

Exactly right.

We were spoiled by Novak. Kill is changing this program, I'm not sure for the better.

This team should be better than 5-3, to be honest. We have a great running game, we don't turn the ball over, we're great in redzone offense and defense, and we have a prety solid defense.

Everything you want a football team to do, we do well.

I might have low expectations but all I really want from this season is for that CMU game to matter. Very few times the past decade is the MAC west championship in our hands that late in the year.

I've input all these wondrous statistical rankings into my computer and it spit out that NIU is a middling MAC team not terribly different from any of the other also-rans and pretenders in this conference.

Does anybody honestly disagree? I didn't think so.

RE: NIU Football stats thru week 9
broken record.

It's not unlike listening to all the political talking heads from right and left babbling on TV.

Rarely do they often say or offer anything really new other than lambast the opposition or regurgetate puke without ever engaging in any genuine dialogue to truly answer- respond -rebutt to the specific statement offered by the other side. It's always about deflecting the original question/statement with any disconnected response.

Neither side admits to listening to the opposition.

When I suggested it might be a plus to schedule more locally based teams for exhibition, one reply was who cares?

I guess reading between the lines means that if you have a personal connection with another program 500 miles away it's a better exhibition game to schedule than having local teams as is done by UIC, DePaul, Loyola and NU.

If city of Chgo did a symbolic holiday cutback with having one smaller tree in plaza rather than a giant tree assembled from many trees, why cannot AD's save travel expenses and valuable time by scheduling local opponents for meaningless exhibition games? LeMonye is within a cab ride from Syracuse.

Why care? It's about money and time for athletic depts and families traveling with team to "meaningless exhibition games."
