17, 9 and 9 for the Bucks. 1.5 already in the bank.

Some on here thought it was a mistake.

$1.65 mil from Roma, $2 mil from Under Armour, and $2.16 mil from Bucks.

Technically by going to college he could have improved his stock to potentially be the top point guard so that the Grizz could pass on him for Thabeet. He would have fallen to Minnesota at 5 or 6 and made $2.96 like Jonny Flynn.

That is IF he would have qualified for college.

True, but my post was not to say he should have gone to school. It was saying that he made more by going to Europe.

1.5 is what he should have in the bank, but I agree that young men should be able to control their own destiny once they reach 18. Live and learn.

Sounds like the European team got the raw deal. No buy out?

I don't believe Flynn was their first draft pick. What was Rubio offered?

What did Rose get for signing with Bulls?

Then we could make a better comparsion.

Jennings was not going to be the top pick in the draft no matter how well he did in college. Blake Griffin had that locked down. Griffin makes $4.95 mil for the record though. Rubio was probably offered $3.25 mil since, Tyreke makes $3.6 mil and Flynn makes $2.96 mil. It is the second contract that will determine who makes the most. Either could end up like Shaun Livingston, get seriously injured, and not get that big second contract. So if you get a minimal or no second contract, that extra 1.5mil you banked in Europe could make a big difference in your life.

So did Beasley. 4.95-1.5=3.45

Maybe it worked out ok for Jennings, but I think it worked out a lot better for Rose.

RE: Brandon Jennings
Jennings is lucky that someone drafted him as high as they did this year. Certainly his year in Europe wasn't impressive. IF he had made it into college, and IF he played as well as everyone thinks he would have, then his initial NBA contract would be higher, and he probably still would have had an endorsement deal. So financially he probably would have been better off going to college.

Fortunately for him, it was worked out well.

RE: Brandon Jennings
Plain and simple, brandon jennings has skills. He will probably rack up lots of assists with his ability to pass the ball. That's why he still got drafted as high as he did. He will be good, and possibly get better. I don't know how he didn't do better than that overseas, but you got to remember, he was a young man overseas. If he had played college ball so everyone could see him play here, i bet he would have drafted higher and probably performed a lot better.

I think if memory serves me correctly, he was playing in the toughest league. I imagine the competition was good. From the stat box, it looks like it might have helped him out.

He is good, no doubt. He also plays for a team that might be the worst in the NBA. Either way, I'll get a better look at him Nov 21 in the FEF.

He was the consensus #1 high school player in his senior year. There have been #1 draft pick bust, but the Parade:POY usually goes on to do extremely well in the NBA. There was no reason to doubt that guy. I would love to have him over Mike C.

Based on this article, his decision-making has improved. It seems he's more humble, making good choices professionally and, more important for him, financially. What other top 15 pick buys a Ford Edge?!! That's a wow decision that puts a different face on a person I was either neutral about (Europe was an interesting decision) or negative (his comments about Rubio). Hope those decisions continue.

Brandon Jennings past 2 games he scored in the 20's. Damn people missed on him especially the Griz, of course. And we got Mike (Ferrari) Conley according to Mark Iavoroni and Hasheem Tha, it really don't even matter what his name is.

The description of the recruiting forum says this:
Quote:All info on recruiting for basketball, football, etc. can be found here.
with no mention of that it has to be Tiger related.

Recruiting is so entertwined that it is all relevant anyway.

Its a success story for him, but don't know that it will work out for everyone that makes the attempt. If you miss out taking this shot - it could be a BIG miss.

Happy it worked out for him, but I also think the overseas teams aren't going to want to continuing paying contracts out to guys that are only there for 1 year before bolting for 'bigger' things. Just not an ideal marketing strategy for them in the long run.

It actually is recruiting related and even Tiger recruiting related. Shows that the Europe thing may be an option for future kids we are recruiting (already lost L Williams) because it seems to have worked out fine for Jennings.

or L Williams at least thought he was going overseas, he is in the NBDL draft today cause he couldnt get a contract in China, the people around him should be ashamed. Now whether or not he would have qualified idk but if he didn't he still could've entered the NBDL draft today without losing the chance to play D1 basketball.

I think Jennings cost himself MILLIONS$$$ by going overseas. he would have been drafted much higher if he would have played at AZ.

I also think that European Clubs are not going to pay many more HS players a million $ to practice with them for a year. He did not help his team win over there. I can see the possible attraction to a HS player, I doubt the feeling will be mutual much

I talk to Sonny weekly, if not daily, introduced him to Vernon. Sonny has always been about someone making their money. Jennings came back to the states with over 2 mill in the bank, he was better off going over seas, no doubt, he could never remake that 2 mill. Contrary to popular belief, Sonny was/is good for the game, he balances Cal, WWW, and Nike out.

The players best interest is Sonny's intention.
