Miss USA judge calls beauty queen 'C-word'
Openly homosexual blogger defaces contestant's photos, gives her 0 score

An openly homosexual blogger and judge of the Miss USA pageant has launched into a full-blown attack on Christian contestant Carrie Prejean – calling her a b-tch and a c---, as well as defacing photos of her with sexually explicit drawings – because she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.

At Sunday night's pageant, Prejean was asked the one question she dreaded most, "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage; do you think every state should follow suit?"

Her answer, which suddenly has made her the center of both praise and scorn, included the words, "In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be – between a man and a woman."

Prejean received some boos from the audience. As the contestants watched from backstage, the room was silent.

"A lot of people were shocked," Miss Vermont told Fox News. "We were all kind of giving each other those eyes, we couldn't believe it."

But, blogger and celebrity "judge" Mario Armando Lavandeira, also known by alias Perez Hilton, a self-described "queen of all media," immediately tore into Prejean in a YouTube video he made right after the contest's conclusion, calling her a "dumb b-tch" and claiming she had given "the worst answer in pageant history."

He admitted to giving Prejean a zero score.

In a follow-up interview on MSNBC, the flamboyant judge was asked if he had apologized for his reaction, but instead he added to it.

"I don't apologize," Hilton said on air. "Over the course of the past 24 hours, the more I've thought about it, the more – you know what? – No, I'm going to stand by what I said just like she's standing by what she said. And I called her the 'b' word, and hey, I was thinking the 'c' word."

Prejean, a student at San Diego Christian College, became as first runner-up, primarily due to Hilton's vote.

The outraged pageant judge later displayed a photo of Prejean speaking into the microphone on his website. In place of the mic, he drew a white outline of a penis on her face.

Keith Lewis, executive director of Miss California USA/Teen USA, wrote a supportive letter to Hilton, condemning Prejean.

"As co-executive director of Miss CA USA and one of the leaders of the Miss CA family, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss CA USA 2009 believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman," he wrote. "Although I believe all religions should be able to ordain what unions they see fit, I do not believe our government should be able to discriminate against anyone. Religious beliefs have no place in politics in the Miss CA family."

Prejean, already crowned Miss California, was considered a front-runner in the Miss USA contest, but she knew her answer to that one question might not sit well with the panel, especially Hilton.

"Out of all the topics I studied up on, I dreaded that one; I prayed I would not be asked about gay marriage," Prejean told the Fox News Channel's Courtney Friel in an exclusive interview. "If I had any other question, I know I would have won."

[/i]Video of the question and Prejean's full answer can be seen here:

Despite providing a response that ultimately cost her the crown, Prejean stood by her answer.

"I knew at that moment after I answered the question, I knew, I was not going to win because of my answer, because I had spoken from my heart, from my beliefs and for my God," she told NBC's "Today" this morning. "I wouldn't have answered it differently. The way I answered may have been offensive. With that question specifically, it's not about being politically correct. For me it was being biblically correct."

Hilton also appeared on NBC's "Today," explaining that he demands a Miss USA winner be "politically savvy," and that even though Prejean is a Christian, he doesn't want her "talking about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, because that's offensive."

A legal analyst told Fox news Prejean may have grounds for a discrimination lawsuit.

"It's her religious beliefs which prompted her to say 'I don't believe in same-sex marriages,'" analyst Mercedes Colwin said. "So she was espousing her beliefs," and has reason to sue for violation of Title VII, which prohibits discrimination based on religion.

Hilton's comments have drawn sharp reaction, even from those who might also disagree with Prejean's answer.

"I am an openly gay man and a supporter of same sex marriage and I wish Perez Hilton would shut up," writes syndicated talk show host Charles Karel Bouley in a column on Huffington Post. "This is a person who is famous for smearing snarky and crude things over celebrity photos and following Brittney's every move. He lives for controversy and is only famous for it."

However, celebrity Miley Cyrus sided with Hilton in a Twitter conversation.

"Ya that's lame!" the "Hannah Montana" star wrote. "God's greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving. That's why Christians have such a bad rep."

Heidi Montage and Britney Spears also came out in support of Hilton.

But concerned viewers and leading West Coast pro-family organization Save California have blasted the Miss Universe Organization for allowing Hilton to judge the event. Comments on Perez Hilton's Miss USA biography include the following:

Shame on the Miss USA organization. This is absolutely your fault. This year, you have single handedly taken down the integrity of the Miss USA pageant and organization. How awful for the new Miss USA that she has had such hard earned glory taken away from her at this time because of the sick media storm that has risen due to the degrading treatment this man is giving to Miss California. I will not be watching next year.

Trump should speak up. Otherwise, Carrie, my suggestion is a discrimination lawsuit.

I'm contacting my local cable carrier and requesting that they no longer carry VH1 where this fool resides.

You were not a fair judge. Miss California should not have been given low scores for respecting the choices of all people and disclosing her own. If you can't respect opposing views, then you should not be a judge for any competition ever!

Shame on you, Hilton. You are a bigot, and the pageant should fire you!

See, this is the kind of Flaming Gay Idiot, Rosie O'Donnell trash, that makes most everyone hate anything about Gay People. This clown just ruins it for Mainstream Gay's who DO NOT WANT any notoriety or to be Outed.

Hilton is one of the meanest, most intrusive Radical Gays out there and he is constantly trying to "Out People" who DO NOT WANT TO BE OUTED.

I have no idea what his motivation is in doing this to people other than he Hates Himself so much, that his Anger is Purely Venomous toward others and he has a Super Need to make them as miserable as he is - - Just like Rosie.

I figure this Little Bawnee Fuwank wanna-be is going to confront the wrong Person whose in the Closet, and when threatening to Out Them ... well we will end up seeing his Mutilated and Tortured body on the 6 O'clock News.

He is a despicable ugly little creep and you have to wonder whose Brain Fart it was to invited him to JUDGE a WOMEN'S Beauty Pageant.

Him and Rosie were Projectile Squirted out of the Same Anus and it shows.

When you ask a question, expect an answer. The question was about what she thinks and she said exactly what she thought. She didn't even say it harshly.

Well I forget that this is a pageant and the judges expected her to give a classic "World Peace" answer that would appease everyone. That's what they get when they put a question in there like that.

RE: Miss USA judge calls beauty queen 'C-word'
I am absolutely speechless that more people... even those who generally disagree with her position... aren't out there SERIOUSLY chastising this jerk. The Miss USA pageant needs to come out and publicly reprimand and fire this dude. While screaming about "tolerance" and chastising HER for alienating a portion of the population... he is guilty of the exact same thing. He says the paheant isn't about "God"... but since when is it about "Gays" either? Her answer was virtually IDENTICAL to Obama's answer... and he was elected... including getting a large number of votes from gay people.

Sum, I couldn't agree more that this jerk was an unfair judge. She did not say she would campaign to make same-sex marriage illegal... she did not say those with a different opinion were wrong. Obviously, even the people of notoriously liberal and Gay friendly California agree (at least in principle) with her opinion. The Miss USA pageant gave a small minded and heavily bigoted person too much power. If someone can show me in the rules where sharing an opinion with at least 51% of the state of California and the newly elected President provides proof of her being "out of touch" with mainstream America and guilty of pandering to a minority of American's while disrespecting the "values" of Miss USA. then I'll drop it and simply care even less about the competition... but IMO, they ought to come out and say... Despite her somewhat controversial opinion, Miss California has demonstrated FAR more grace and respect for opposing opinions, consistent with the goals of the pageant than Perez Hilton. As a result, while we do not condemn his opinion in any way, his method of expression does not in any way reflect the values of the pageant, and as such, do not feel that he is qualified to sit in judgment of others. Anything short of firing and "standing up" to this sort of "politically correct political incorrectness" is a joke and shouldn't be tolerated.

In all seriousness... Change the "discrimination" a bit... Pretend its 1963, and some bigoted judge is sitting on the panel and asks the contestant what she thinks about school integration... and she says she supports the new laws enforcing integration (as miss Cali supported the new Cali law affirming marriage between opposite sexes)... and he calls her a dumb b----- and a C---. The mainstream media at the time MIGHT have let him slide... but it wouldn't have made him right.

Personally, I don't know where I come down on the issue. I am certainly not gay-unfriendly... but I haven't heard my gay friends express that this is a significantly important issue to them... and as it does not directly affect me... that is where I will take my cue... not from some no-talent hate-monger.

Let's not turn this into a question of what we believe...

The question is, since when is being gay-friendly a criteria for Ms USA?? and don't anyone tell me its about tolerance... because CLEARLY Perez is intolerant of the majority view she expressed.

Apparently, being in favor of "traditional" marriage is a good thing for a President, who actually has somewhat of a say on such things, but not for Miss USA, who clearly doesn't.

I think that asking a question where there's apparently just one politically correct answer is BS. Gay marriage is a hot issue today and with a little more than 50% of the people on one side and a little less than 50% on the other. She spoke for the majority.

Quote:"Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage; do you think every state should follow suit?"

She was asked her opinion and she gave it. How can an opinion be wrong? She didn't give an uninformed, idiotic answer; she gave an intelligent opinion based on her beliefs. What is she supposed to do, lie?

For every step gays take forward, it's flamers like this that take them two steps back. What would have happened if she gave a pro-gay response and a judge who disagreed with her gave her a zero?

He/she gave Ms Cali a ZERO....just for having a different opinion. He should DEFINITELY be called out publically by Miss USA. What a disgrace...but this is what America is coming to. The land of the politically correct. Screw honesty and values.

I would vote for this girl right now.

Gotta ask, why is a flaming homo queen a judge in a woman's beauty contest? To be judged fairly a contestant needs to be judged by men and women and Perez has failed to meet the qualifications of either.

She actually tried to be as politically correct as she could. She tried to cover what she was about to say in the beginning and then came out with her answer.

As an aside, I usually don't like the way that pageant contestants look (I'm an *** man!) but this one looks pretty good.

Yes, the new Fox News anchor.

SOAF - I've never agreed with you more than on this thread, and my views regarding religion are pretty well known around here. HBone - by my count, that's three resident nontheists on your side in this thread. If you're asking why more public figures aren't round and about in the public, the answer would be evident in the reaction of this judge - they're afraid of social ostracism and of some weak minded idiot reacting viciously and hysterically. My wife is over the edge of reason in favoring gay rights and I told her the reaction was ridiculous - she gave an honest answer to a loaded question and it's now apparent that this was a litmus test type of question more than likely specifically intended to exclude this candidate. That the organization didn't immediately emasculate this idiot makes the entire thing a farce (as if it really meant anything to begin with).

I say one of two things occurred.

1. Either the pageant screwed up and put a flamer on the judge's panel and asked a question that directly relates to his lifestyle thereby skewing his objectivity.

or

2. The pageant put a flamer on the panel and then intentionally inserted the gay marriage question under the belief the answer would be pro gay. That, my friends, would be a political propaganda message sent out on a global scale.

Robert, what do you do when one protected minority hammers another protected minority?

California recently passed Prop 48, which defines marriage as between man and a women.

Not only did she give her view, she accuratly portrayed and represented the State of California. And as noted, I missed the calling of Obama and Biden anything but "nuanced" for their exact same views.

You know what will backfire? PH's slanderous and libelous comments will

A) see him in court

and

B) turn some of those who are ambivelent or uncaring about gay marriage against it

and

C) now we have a name and a face to go with all the other uncompromising gay activists who believe threats and intimidation will somehow change people's mind. This guy set back the gay agenda by years. His biggest enemy now might be a couple regular dudes who happen to love each other.......

It didn't hurt that she is a ECU gal.04-cheers I think it is still about 3 to 2 ratio of female/male at my Alma Mater.

Although I differ in opinion from this gal....I thought she answered the question truthfully and should be commended for her courage.

I'm all for getting smoking hot chicks together, but if that queer is a judge, that competition lost all credibility from the get go.

this is second MISS USA in recent years from NC, in 2005 Chelsea Cooley won

/just cause

Cooley was a waitress at a local bar the year before she won this, waited on my table once. after a little while, she asked if I needed a 'nipple' for my beer since I was 'nursing' it.(i.e. it was still mostly full). Instead of saying something whitty like, "sure, got one I can borrow"...I said something about her getting a decent tip.04-chairshot true story

remember the Tara Connor scandal the following year?

The silent majority will rise up again and make a comeback. Just like the blacks had their bus boycott. Those that support traditional values will remember the day that one their own was denied the chance to win because of her religious beliefs. I guess if a Catholic contestant was asked if she was pro-life that would have been grounds for a zero score if she said yes by those judges. They should call it Miss Liberal America not Miss American I guess.

The question is, since when is being gay-friendly a criteria for Ms USA?? and don't anyone tell me its about tolerance... because CLEARLY Perez is intolerant of the majority view she expressed.

100% on point.

RE: Miss USA judge calls beauty queen 'C-word'

Prejean received cheers and applause, along with some boos from the audience. As other contestants watched from backstage, the room was silent.

"A lot of people were shocked," Miss Vermont told Fox News. "We were all kind of giving each other those eyes, we couldn't believe it."

But blogger and celebrity "judge" Mario Armando Lavandeira, also known by alias Perez Hilton, a self-described "queen of all media," immediately tore into Prejean in a YouTube video he made right after the contest's conclusion, calling her a "dumb b-tch" and claiming she had given "the worst answer in pageant history."
