I'm in between the "far exceeded my expectations" and the "exactly as I expected"

They exceeded my expectations. I expected 5 losses, maybe 6, before the ncaas. I would have been happy with sweet 16 preseason. Still would be happy, but we could make a run to the title as easy as any of the big bcs contenders.

We are ahead of where I thought we would be, not FAR ahead.

I thought we would be a 12-25 ranked team and 25-5 Kind of record.

Remember, the Tigers are in a rebuilding year. Teams better get Memphis this year while they can.

You and me both. The fact we went 16-0 in a stronger CUSA surprised the heck out of me!

thus far I expected 5 losses with one more coming in the ncaa tournament. coming in to this season I expected a return to the sweet 16, anything over was a bonus. They have already done better in the regular season than I expected. Literally impossible for them to lose 2 in either remaining tourney. I am trying very hard to stick with sweet 16. I dont want to put unfair expectations on them so anything past the 16 will be a bonus for me.

definitely exceeded. I expected losses to Tenn, GTown and Gonzaga out of conference and CUSA loses to Tulsa, UAB and UTEP on the road with a possible upset against a team like Southern Miss or Houston.

Obiously CUSA was not as good as many thought it would be going into the season. Until the rest of the conference decides to get into the basketball business 1 loss in the league appears to be the max we should expect for us every year.

I voted exceeded but I really can't say overall because I was considering when everything is over and I was thinking we could at least be sweet 16 but that is still to come. Yes for season wins though.

I also thought we'd lose 2 or 3 conference games so undefeated suprises me.

a better question: if the Tigers lose in the Sweet 16, how would this season compare to both your preseason expectations and your expectations going in to postseason?

Although I believe they have the capability of going further if they get a good seeding and bracket (plus stay on a good outside shooting streak), I said originally that I would be very pleased with a Sweet 16 appearance this year, considering how much we lost to the NBA from last season. I'm going to stick with that, but if this team makes it further than that, it's a real testament to their focus on defense, team chemistry+leadership, and Coach Cal's abilities.

All in all, this season is going better than I was "led to believe" ( ). I actually thought we would have roughly the same number of losses, but I though we'd do beeter OOC and worse than we've done in-conference.

I'm shocked that almost 20% of Tiger fans expected us to be this good this year. I'm astounded that we're where we are now.

Honestly they are 2 games better than I thought they would be.
Thought they might drop 1 or 2 games in conference but had figured them to have 5 loses at this point.
Still think they will win the CUSA tourney though.

I thought we'd lose a game or two in conference. I did think we would beat Xavier and Syracuse at home. I also thought we'd lose both the UT and Gonz. games though.

I didn't expect them to lose a C-USA game, but at the start of the year, I thought the Gonzaga game was going to be a loss. And I thought the UTK game was going to be a tough one.
At the start of the year, I thought we would have 5 losses.

thus far, i voted "exceeded"...but ask me again in 3 weeks. pre-season, i expected Sweet 16 and possibly Elite 8, and i'm holding to those expectations.

having said that, if Mack & Sallie get hot, and everything else in our arsenal stays as-is, we're going to be hard to beat...and a NC wouldn't shock me.

if the tigers didnt meet your expectations then they are too high

I expected the undefeated C-USA and I thought we would lose 3 though not the 3 we lost. I thought we would lose @ Gtown, @UTK & @Zaga.

I hate to say it, but the team performed exactly as I predicted they would.

i thought we would lose 6-8 games and a couple in conference. make the ncaa's with a 4-5 seed and hopefully get out of the second round

no question this team has far exceeded what i expected.

Far exceeded. I had us pegged for 6 losses in the preseason and had little hope when the record was 6-3. Winning at Tennessee and Gonzaga and going 16-0 in C-USA were the surprises.

I thought we'd have a 5, maybe 6 loss season with 2 conference losses. I'm pleasantly surprised with the team, especially Tyreke's growth as a team player and a smarter player. Doneal Mack has really improved his game and Taggart has played tough ball for us. With Dozier stepping up lately and AA playing lockdown D like always I love how we could finish out this year. Wrong and so happy I am!

Like most, I figured about 5 losses...a couple early and a couple in conference. The win streak was totally unexpected for me though it maybe shouldn't have been. I figured us for a 5-7 seed.

I expected us to lose five games through the CUSA tourney so at worst it can be at four losses (bite your tongue), a four seed in the dance (should do better), and a top 16 finish (that remains to be seen). Go Tigers

I guess you would call mine hopes and not really expectations maybe, but the beginning of the season I was wanting 30 wins and Elite Eight (for the record and to keep the E8+ streak going).

so, I guess that means we've exceeded since we should/could/hopefully will blow away the 30 games and looks really good to reach the Elite Eight+

me too.

i really figured we'd lose 2 (maybe 3) road games this year. i am very impressed with how the Tigers responded after the less than stellar start.

I predicted that they would finish at 24-7 for the regular season, I thought they would lose Conference Games at UAB, UTEP, and Tulsa....

I had no idea that the Tigers would respond the way they have. KEEP ROLLING TIGERS!!!!

I thought we would lose 2 conference games and 4 or 5 total.

The regular season basically panned out like I had projected(mirror 2006-07 year)... No losses to CUSA teams.

Pleasantly surprised, considering the way the season started.

I was thinking we might lose 6 or 8 games, maybe a couple on the road in conference.

Cal is unbelieveable, and these seniors have played with heart.

Now comes the scary part with such a long winning streak going into the tournament.

I was hoping for around 6-7 losses and a Sweet 16 appearance.

I certainly wasn't expecting to run the C-USA table AGAIN. Even Coach Cal said we'd lose a couple of league games, but maybe that was just coachspeak.
