Starting next year they will be in the Sun Belt full-fledged.

BTW, for everyone if you want to know how I arrive at the record I had, feel free to ask and I will accomodate.

Sure, I'll bite. How did you arrive at ECU's record (which I like)?

If you used a statiscal model, then who are the three teams that we are likely to lose to? Because my hunch is that we will beat Southern Mississippi, but lose to Marshall, again.

My guess would be WVU, VT, & USM.

ECU's Wins
Conference Wins - @ USM, Memphis, Marshall, UAB, Houston, UTEP, @ Tulane
Conference Loss - @ UCF

OOC Wins - @ N.C. State, @ Virginia, Houston (Conference Championship Game)
OOC Losses - Virginia Tech, West Virginia

If Wideright's reading this - ECU will have a Liberty Bowl date with Auburn, not Arkansas.

OK, now I am not trying to get in a pissing match with the UCF fans, but what do you see at UCF that would enable them to beat us?

It was only a guess. The way the games play out, you never know. I can be right, I can be wrong. Things cannot be judged on talent alone.

If we end up agreeing on disagreeing on that, I'm fine with that.

ECU is going to be ready for that game; ditto for UCF. It looks like the losses are against the teams that actually play defense. Sorry Tulane posters; I didn't mean to slam your defense.

Every "nonBCS" team except one will have at least three losses, even before the bowl games, and that one other team will have two losses? I'd bet against that on sheer probability alone.

WoW, you have us 3-1 vs Texas AM, Arizona, @ Tulsa, @ New Mexico St?? and 8-4 overall?? I'll take that quick, I'd be more than happy to give that OOC loss to Tulsa. Our most important games are vs BCS teams and NMSU...those are our must wins!

UCF = Defense = Only team with a shot at C-USA championship.

PS Kevin Smith didn't play defense.

End of discussion.

Who came up with this list.. some drunken ecu fan?? I'm sorry even though I think ECU will be a good team this year.. they are not going to go 2-2 occ. at best ECU ends up 9-3.. and 8-4 is much more likely. the rest of cusa east looks reasonable.

I don't see Tulsa losing four games next year. I think their most likely losses are Arkansas and Houston. I really think Tulsa will be improved in the second year of this coaching staff.

RE: On and Off Topic - 2008 Football Forecast - Part IV
goodknight, There's a very good chance ECU beats NC State & UVA. I even like our chances against VATech. NC State had a ton of senior starters last year & a very good undergrad dback that went early to the NFL. NC State is also undecided on a starting QB. UVA lost Long & their best o-lineman in the first round of the NFL draft. Their starting QB was released due to grades. UVA also lost a few other starters due to poor academics & various other reasons. ECU played VaTech tough at VaTech last year. ECU get's the Hokies in Charlotte this year. VaTech lost a ton of their defensive starters as well as their #1 running back & wideout. Heck, West Virginia lost 8-9 of their defensive starters from last year. They also lost their # 1 running back, #1 fullback, & their #1 wideout from last year. ECU could lose all 4 of those games, but I think we will win at least 2 of them if not 3.

One other thing ECU has in it's favor this season is two bye weeks. NC State had a bye week before our game last year, while we won an overtime game at UTEP & had to travel a ton of miles home. Our guys were flat while NC State was well rested.

UCF fans are like gnats. Any opportunity they get to bash ECU is not missed. Always coming out of left field to take a crack at us. Must be penis envy?

I see you forgot to call std932253 a drunk UCF fan for saying UCF is the only team with a shot at the CUSA championship.

If UTEP goes 5-7, I will be calling for Mike Price's head. There is absolutely no reason with the talent the Miners have, to not compete. 01-lauramac2

First off I didnt bash ECU.. I said you will be good and predicted 8-4 or 9-3. I also think STD is spending too much time at the end of a beer bottle with that prediction. I think Tulsa, ECU, UCF, and probably Houston have pretty legit chances at cusa champ.. and I wouldn't even count USM out.

Thats right we could never beat NC State and UVA in the same season!!! No wait yes we can! In fact we just did it back in 2006! UVA is going to be REALLY down this year oh and by the way ECU has NEVER lost a football game to UVA. And we haven't lost to NC State back to back games since the 70's.
