Ratings are in - Memphis/UT game sets ESPN record
Quote:Last Saturday’s Memphis-Tennessee showdown at FedExForum was the most-viewed men’s college basketball game in ESPN history.

The 66-62 Vols’ win averaged 3,636,000 households and 5,281,000 viewers, topping the average of 3,134,000 viewers who watched North Carolina at Duke on March 4, 2006.

The game also stands as the most-viewed regular-season men’s college basketball game on any broadcast outlet since March 6, 2005, when CBS’ coverage of a Duke-North Carolina game averaged 3,977,000 households.

The Memphis-Tennessee game drew a 3.8 national rating, ESPN’s highest since December 22, 1998, when Kentucky vs. Duke averaged a 3.9.

The game drew a 31.4 rating in Memphis and a 30.9 in Knoxville.

Needless to say, this will be a huge bargaining chip for future C-USA games on ESPN.

I'll bone Jessica Alba before Bruce Pearl becomes our coach.

This is huge for the next t.v contract. The Liberty Bowl was one of the highest rated games on ESPN in football and now we have the highest BB game rating. Show me the money!

Five years from now if I'm bonin' Jessica Alba and Bruce Pearl is the head coach of Memphis, I'll gladly bump this thread up.

I would sooner see the university put Blair Savage-Lansden in charge of the team than Sweathog.

The guy is a proven winner, but after watching his ridiculous antics on the sidelines tonight, I think I'd have to pass on his services.

Now you brought up boning Jessica Alba?

How do you expect us to concentrate at work or concentrate on any valid points on this thread?

He and Cal remind me of each other in a couple of ways, but Pearl is annoying at times. Has nothing to do with that other school across the state...he just gets on my nerves at times.

I'd rather have Pitino than Pearl anyday, and I'm not even a big Pitino fan.
