NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair(notes) has been shot and killed.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that police were called to a residence and found McNair and a woman shot to death inside. Aaron said authorities don’t yet know the circumstances of the shooting.

“I don’t have any answers for you now as to what’s happened, who’s responsible,” he said.

Aaron said police have tentatively identified the woman but did not release her name.

McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL and led the Titans within a yard of forcing overtime in the 2000 Super Bowl. The former third overall draft pick also played for the Baltimore Ravens before retiring after the 2007 season.

“He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans,” Titans owner Bud Adams said in a statement. “He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl.”

If I were the Cops I'd be looking for the woman's boyfriend/ex-boyfriend.

P.O.ed Dude comes by, finds McNair, goes nuts. BAM.

RE: Steve McNair has been shot and killed.
Apparent murder-suicide. The several gunshot wounds to McNair suggest he was on the wrong side of that deal. IIRC, he was the last quarterback of the Houston Oilers for maybe 1-2 years before they moved.

Quote:NASHVILLE (Reuters) - Former star NFL quarterback Steve McNair was found shot to death in a Nashville condominium on Saturday, police said. A woman's body was also found at the scene.

McNair, who was 36, suffered several gunshot wounds, the Nashville Tennessean newspaper reported, citing police. A 20-year-old woman was found alongside him with a single gunshot wound to her head and a pistol near her body, it reported.

The newspaper described the deaths as an apparent murder-suicide.

Police were called to the scene in the early afternoon.

"The circumstances surrounding the shooting deaths remain under active investigation," Nashville told Reuters in a statement. Police department spokesman Don Aaron said no suspects had been taken into custody.

The other woman. Instead of buying her a Caddy, Steve should have got her a nose job. By the way, McNair is married with 4 kids.

A car registered to Steve McNair and a 20-year-old woman was stopped two days ago on Broadway.

The driver and co-owner, Sahel Kazemi, was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test. The car was a 2007 black Cadillac Escalade.

Earlier today, a black Escalade was towed from the condominium complex on Second Avenue where McNair and a female who has not yet been identified by police were found dead this afternoon.

It is not clear whether this is the same vehicle involved in the DUI arrest.

Steve McNair is married to Mechelle McNair, who police have confirmed is not the victim.

"Most recently, she had a new black car she said was a gift from her boyfriend.

She was arrested in that car, a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade registered to her and McNair, early Thursday at Broadway and Ninth Avenue, just two days before the deaths. She was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to take a breath test. She told police she was not drunk, but high.

McNair was in the car, a fact that was not in the police affidavit but was confirmed by police Saturday night. Police allowed McNair to take a cab home. He later bailed Kazemi out of jail, according to bail bondsmen.
Ex-boyfriend worried

Keith Norfleet, who said he dated Kazemi for four years before they broke up five months ago, was worried about her dating McNair, a married man. She met McNair while she was a waitress at Dave & Buster’s Grand Sports Cafe, he said.

“She was a very strong, independent girl. A hard worker,” said Norfleet, who had hoped to get back together with her. “She had a huge heart. She was very caring, very loving.”

Neighbors said she had turned 20 just a few weeks ago and described her as friendly and fun-loving though naive about some things. She was known as Jenny to her friends.

Tony Farahani, general manager at Dave and Buster’s at Opry Mills, said McNair frequently came to his restaurant, often bringing several people. He said he would not be surprised if McNair met Kazemi there. He described Kazemi as a solid employee, a workaholic with high energy.

“This is a tremendous shock, so unexpected. She was a bubbly girl and she was supposed to come today at 5 p.m.”

It is Rare Rare Rare for a Woman to Shoot them selves in any part of the Head or Face no matter how distraught they are.

So if this is a Murder/Suicide and she popped her self in the face, you are dealing with a very Maniacal Woman that was Extremely Dangerous in so many ways it is unreal.

On the other hand, it could have been a 'Hit' and the Idiot that pulled the job to make it look like a Murder/Suicide, has no clue as to how women Kill them selves with Guns.

This will be an interesting one to watch and see if the Cops get it right or if they are right already.

The sad thing is if the Nashville Police didn't cover up the fact that McNair was in the car when the bimbo was popped for the DWI, he still might be alive.

News would leak that a car with McNair in it (and registered to him as co-owner) was involved in a DWI stop. It would have made it on ESPN. Michelle McNair (wife) would have raised Holy Hell, and Steve would have gone back to Hattiesburg to settle things out. He wouldn't have been in Nashville when the bimbo went off her rocker.

Think of McNair's poor wife. Her husband is dead and he was with another women when he died. Ouch.

RE: Steve McNair has been shot and killed.
McNair was shot 4 times while on the couch, Ruled Homicide. She was shot once in the head with the gun under her body, No Ruling as to her death. Neighbors say he was spending most of his time living with Sahel Kazemi, the 20-year-old.

Sister of Sahel Kazemi, says McNair may have been using Sahel Kazemi, to make the wife jealous. It's time to investigate where McNair's wife was at the time. And who owned the gun.

----------------------------------------------------------

Victim's sister: 'Third person involved' in Steve McNair's death

The sister of Sahel Kazemi, the 20-year-old women found shot dead with former NFL QB Steve McNair on Saturday, says she was a young woman who wanted to have fun and couldn't have hurt anyone — not herself, nor anyone else.
Kazemi was actually the aunt of Sepideh Salmani, but they were raised as sisters. Salmani's mother adopted her when she was 9, after Kazemi's mother was killed in their native Iran. Salmani talked to her sister every day, and said she was very happy in her relationship with Steve McNair.

She doesn't believe her sister killed McNair, or herself.

"She was one, young girl who had so many dreams that they never came true," Salmani said. "She would never kill anyone, ever. Or anything. Not even a little bug. I want people to know that."

Nashville police have ruled McNair's death a homicide, but have refused to classify Sahemi's death. McNair suffered four gunshot wounds on Saturday, while Sahemi received just one. The gun was discovered underneath her body.

FIND MORE STORIES IN: Steve McNair
McNair was found sitting on the sofa. Kazemi was lying on the floor.

Disbelief was also building near Kazemi's home, where police were interviewing neighbors Saturday.

Regan Howard said when Kazemi first became her neighbor, she didn't know if it was Kazemi or McNair who moved in since he was there so much.

"She was such a nice girl," Howard said. "I can't believe she would do that."

When McNair got her the Escalade, Howard said, she had to help her figure out how to use the remote starter.

Salmani said she talked to her sister nearly every day, and that she'd been hearing about McNair for several months, since he started coming to Dave & Busters and chatting her up.

"He started to talk to her a little," Salmani said. "They exchanged phone numbers, and started dating from there."

Kazemi told her sister that McNair was in the process of divorcing.

"That's why she was like, 'OK, now you're divorcing. We can date,'" Salmani said. "He told her, it was going to be finished, the whole divorce was going to be done, two weeks from yesterday."

Although a check of Davidson County's court records shows there is no divorce pending — at least in Nashville — McNair's house is for sale. His wife, Mechelle McNair, hasn't spoken to the media. Police said she is distraught over his death.

Salmani said her sister believed that she and McNair would move in together once the divorce was final, and eventually marry.

"All she was trying to do was have fun," Salmani said. "Nothing else. I believe there is a third person involved."

Kazemi first came to Nashville nearly four years ago with her then-boyfriend, Keith Norfleet. They broke up about five months ago, and she started seeing McNair soon after.

She probably didn't know who McNair was, Salmani said, until her colleagues at the restaurant told her. Salmani now fears McNair was using her sister, because she was a young woman with a pretty face. She fears jealous people in his life are the reason her sister is dead, and won't live out her dreams.

Her greatest dream, Salmani said, was to be famous.

"I think she is now," she said. "She is everywhere."

For someone who cared that much about "How Great They Looked and How Perfect", it will have to be an honest case of Total and Complete Despair and Utter Hatred of Herself, for her to have "Shot Her Own Self In the Head and Face Area".

And this is not a 'Sexist Statement', but Most Women, even in Suicide, are still either Consciously Vain or Subconsciously Vain about 'Their Looks and Appearance'. It is a Female Trait of Life Long Vanity that compels them to shoot them selves in the Heart or NOT even use a Gun at all, but other means of Suicide.

It is not an impossibility, but She Does Not Fit the Profile to be one to "Harm Her Own Face, even in Death by Suicide".

As a Detective working this case, I would work it down to the bone knowing her Vanity and the fact she would choose to shoot her self in the Head/Face and take a chance on messing it up in Appearance.

RE: Steve McNair has been shot and killed.
I agree Trip, but I have heard about stranger suicides. It's also about the $200 million he is worth. Any detective worth his salt has to follow that money trail. With Michael Jackson's Drug "suicide" the only thing in the media, the spotlight is off the McNair case.

The Gun information seals the deal, just about. After McNair bailed her out of jail, Sahel Kazemi may have been a scorned woman.

Steve McNair's Nashville love nest littered with grisly bloodstains

BY Michael O'Keeffe In Nashville and Jonathan Lemire
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITERS

Tuesday, July 7th 2009, 1:33 PM

The Nashville love nest where NFL star Steve McNair was murdered was a Spartan rented condo where the only personal touches were liquor bottles and men's sneakers.

Grisly bloodstains marked the spot on a couch where cops think McNair was shot four times on Saturday.

The carpet in front of the couch was also soaked with blood - marking the place his 20-year-old girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, 20, crumpled after a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Tennessean newspaper, which gained access to the crime scene.

Much of the couch had been cut up detectives, but dark red blood soaked the remaining cushions, according to the newspaper.

The paper described the condo - which sits six miles from the palatial home McNair, 36, shared with his wife and four kids - as devoid of homey touches.

About a dozen liquor bottles sat on a kitchen counter. On the counter, a piece of paper folded like an envelope held a $20 bill and bore the words "Never broke."

A pile of men's white sneakers sat on the kitchen floor, the paper said.

Chunks of drywall behind the couch were cut away by investigators, who wrote the words "strike mark #1," "strike mark #2," and "stain #1" next to apparent bullet holes, according to the paper. Fingerprint dust was also scattered throughout the apartment.

Investigators are treating the crime as an apparent murder-suicide but have been hesitant to make an official ruling because family and friends said Kazemi was not suicidal.

Kazemi, who also used the first name "Jenny," bought the gun from a private owner Thursday night, not long after she was busted for drunk driving in an SUV with McNair.

It's not clear if McNair's wife, Mechelle, knew about his brazen affair with the Dave and Buster's waitress. Kazemi's family said she believed he was getting a divorce.

Court records do not show any pending split.

The McNair family home is up for sale for $3 million, but their real estate agent has said that the couple was simply looking to buy a new home on a lake.

Ballistics reports that should shed more light on the shooting will be available this week, police said.

Police said they interviewed Kazemi's ex-boyfriend for several hours Sunday but said he is not a suspect - and they're not looking for anyone else.

Keith Norfleet - who dated Kazemi for four "volatile" years, according to his family - was cooperative with detectives, officials said.

A memorial service will be held Thursday for McNair in Nashville, where he is renowned for his community work. He will be buried on Saturday in the small Mississippi town where he was born.

FWIW, Kazemi is a Persian name. If she was from a Muslim family, they would go against the finding of suicide against all reason due to the stigma against suicide. She doesn't dress like a typical Muslim, though.

The latest news indicates an official finding of murder-suicide given that Kazemi bought the murder weapon.

She isn't a devout Shia that's for sure. 04-jawdrop

According to news reports, she used a 9mm. If the first shot to the head didn't blow McNair's skull apart, the second "point blank" one did.

How in the hell the guy walked in and didn't notice the blood and brains all over the couch, carpet, and wall escapes me. I can't see any reason for a 30-45 minute delay to call the cops other than a call to "Mr. Wolf" to come clean up the mess or to destroy anything compromising in the residence.

Kazemi was Bahai - her family fled Iran due to persecution. At least one article indicated the 45 minute delay is not unusual because "people panic".

You don't have to SEE IT, YOU SMELL IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY and it STINKS.

You would have to be a good distance from the Bodies, especially with a Lot of Brain Matter all over the place to not have smelled it.

And the Gun Smoke hangs in the air, if there is no air circulation in the Room, for a very long time.

RE: Steve McNair has been shot and killed.
.

I was involved in a Case where a Woman shot her self in the Mouth ---- now you have to have a little trust of me here, "4 Times" before she finally Fired one that was Fatal.

I knew this situation very very well and there was a lot of Spousal Abuse and Financial Issues this poor woman was dealing with and she was just beaten to pieces by it all.

Now try to imagine, wanting to Die So Badly, that you Shoot Your Self In the Mouth with a 9mm "4 Times" and with her Sister Fighting her for the Gun all the while.

This is the Only Case I was ever personally involved in where a Woman shot her self any where in the Head Area.

Man the Utter Pain she went thru the First 3 Shots were humanly unbearable from the damage they caused.

This woman truly wanted to die and nothing was going to stop her.

And it was nothing like the McNair situation with the Picture Perfect, every Hair In Place Girlfriend.

The only twist in the works with McNair, IS that she bought the Weapon just days before the Shooting .... still could be Owners Gun used against her and McNair and it was made to look like a Murder/Suicide, but that would have taken some personal meaning and desire for revenge to pull off.

AHHH, this one will either go Cold Case or be concluded as Murder/Suicide Deaths, as part of a Crime of Passion.

Strange one though ....

Around 5000 attend McNair's Funeral.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Titans quarterback Vince Young didn't expect to speak Saturday during his mentor's funeral. He wound up summing up the emotional day with just a few words.

"Steve was like a hero to me, and heroes are not supposed to die,'' Young said before stopping to rub his eyes as he talked about the man he knew from football camps as a teenager and called "Pops'' - Steve McNair, his predecessor with the Titans.

McNair was shot and killed on the Fourth of July by his girlfriend, 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, who then shot herself in the head.

Nearly 5,000 turned out to say goodbye to the 36-year-old during one of the biggest funerals in the recent history of Mississippi, McNair's home state.

Fans and old friends filed into the Reed Green Coliseum on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi, and McNair's family rented buses to haul in most of the people from his hometown of Mount Olive. Not far away sat men who competed against McNair or coached him on the field.

The high school football team McNair's son plays on wore their jerseys in honor of the man they often saw smiling from the sidelines.

"Mississippi has lost a tremendous legend,'' said Cardell Jones, McNair's college coach at Alcorn State.

The hearse carrying McNair's silvery-gray casket was escorted 30 miles down Highway 49 by nine police officers on motorcycles and several vehicles carrying family members. After the two-hour service, the procession headed back down that road to Mount Olive for a private burial.

Police escorted McNair's wife, Mechelle, and his mother, Lucille, into the stadium beforehand. Near the end, a handful of people surrounded his mother and his sons, waving them with fans and programs and giving hugs.

Brett Favre, who had a home near McNair's here in Hattiesburg, sat a few rows behind the McNair family but did not speak. Titans coach Jeff Fisher, Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis and Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler attended. Doug Williams, the first black quarterback to win the Super Bowl, also was on hand.

No matter how well the guy could throw a ball he was still a cheating scumbag. That he was going to cheat on the girl he was cheating on his wife with is beyond my ability to comprehend. 5000 people turned out for him and I wonder who many will be there when his kids need help. Granted his estate is valued at $200 million and that can buy a lot of help, but his wife is going to needs friends, not leechers.

This just goes to show that we have elevated Stars of Screen, Stage, TV, Music, and SPORTS along with other Arts and Politics, so high above the rest of us, that we have almost let it get to an insane fever pitch that is fairly unhealthy.

THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE REST OF US .....

This is a Fundamental Truth and we should be able to see this by all the Public Flaws we see in them Each and Every Day.

Why are these people our Heroes ???

Do most people ever ask them selves this Simple, Yet Super Important Question. And this gets passed on to our Children and this is a shame.

Are our lives so dull and dumbed down, that we have to use these peoples troubled lives, as a Proxy Way to maybe scratch some of their Lime Light Cinderella Lives off onto our selves so we can be happy too ???

I believe we have gotten lost in all this and Forgotten Who our True Heroes Really Are - OR Should Be ....

And man is that ever our Dire Loss.

It's not a dull and dumbed down life, It's human nature. Instant popularity didn't just start in this generation.
