Funny... I post a few negative facts about UTEP and the Miners think I'm a jerk (no wait, the poll was for biggest putz). These weren't my opinions I posted, mind you, these were outright facts like number of winning football seasons over the past three decades. I never insulted their town or their fans, just tried to bring to light the less-positive aspects of their program. Most Miners were terribly offended by that... like, how dare I not fawn all over them...
... but look at the garbage that La Tech fans have had to endure. Even on the day the announcement is almost certainly going to go against them, there are still people taking cheap potshots at them.

I will say this though... the Miner fans here have been very gracious to Bulldog fans and wished them well. They deserve credit for that. Lord knows we can use an infusion of class around here.

That's funny, Cane, I too dragged UTEP through the mud with facts on several occasions (still not hot with their choice, mind you), but nary once do I remember any hostile responses. All I remember were a handful of them making continued gestures to evangelize their worthiness as a candidate. Certainly we didn't have anyone from UTEP threatening to assault people, promolgating a series of obvious fabrications (HD), or comparing themselves to Jesus Christ. Why? I suppose because they were comfortable with themselves and didn't see a need to be desperate in the process. That makes them easier to respect. As far as the inevitable "class" recriminations, all I can say is civil as, civil does.
