I can't imagine that they would have had this thing set up for Friday afternoon instead of Friday morning... and I can't imagine that they wouldn't have been all set to issue the press release right after lunch. I'd be kinda nervous were I a Miner hoping for CUSA admission... and I'm sure they are.

I have seen a few comments that the call is scheduled for 3pm.

I have no proof, but the rumor is running around.

No, because if they do, there will be alot of pissed of presidents and AD's who are counting on a championship game.

I think that's why they call it a "vote"... to determine if there's enough of one group or the other... we do know both groups exist, though.

Could LaTech end up being the compromise?

Not that it's my issue, but why? As long as they hold the presser before the local news slot in your home markets, who cares?

Just my experience in college administration that generally presidents are out of the office anyway, but they're definitely out of the office sometime Friday afternoon.

Otoh, it could just be that they all saw that as a good time window in their schedule anyway, and are taking advantage of the dearth of activity in that slot.

For the record... I was one of the lucky kids who got to open ALL of his presents on Christmas Eve... so, yeah, this is excrutiating...

From the EP Times article this morning:

"Conference USA's board of directors, made up of presidents from the 11-member schools, are scheduled to meet via conference call this afternoon to discuss and possibly vote on expansion. Among the three items expected to be addressed are whether to add UTEP or Louisiana Tech, or stay at 11 schools."



Says the call would take place in the afternoon. I'm anxious, but not worried.

Word is there is a press conference scheduled for 2 p.m. today mountain time here in El Paso. This sure has been a long day waiting. Makes me feel like selection Sunday! I will be glad when it's over!

Sheesh... that's 4 pm EDT... maybe we need to think again about this Mountain time zone thing.
