It looks like Robertson's Stadium is being considered as the home for a potential new MLS team. Seems as though Maggard is angling to have them put Field Turf down. This would be great for Houston and especially UH. We would get a chance to showcase the campus and there could be the possibility for more business development.

Monceaux on CougarsDen had a great idea of if they put down the field turf, that we would let them use Robertson's rent free and charge a small usage fee per ticket and take a percentage of concession, parking etc...

Let me know your thoughts.

This sounds amazingly similar to conversations at Rice about 7 or 8 years ago, except MLS refused to consider a stadium with a plastic field and insisted that Rice pay to convert to real grass. That killed the deal. Rice was willing to go to grass is MLS paid for it, but MLS wouldn't put up even a nickle for it. I can't see UH putting up the $$ to go to turf either, so I suspect this deal will also die.
I'd rather we keep grass anyway ... Field turf is only an upgrade if you play on astro-turf IMO
You will find no arguments from me on that one! I think all fields should be natural grass.
