I got to see the OU game on TV and don't feel too bad about losing. TU shot themselves in the feet with all the turnovers, but the effort looked good and Pooh looked good on the sidelines. It seems he didn't substitute as much as Coach Phillips. The commentators mentioned how tired TU looked at the end. Hopefully we can compete in the WAC this year. Need to cure the TO bug. I wouldn't mind seeing Pooh remain on as coach, of course it depends on how well they do the rest of the year.
With 3 days to turn it around, I think he did an outstanding job. Turnovers may take a while to cut down but the reduced substitutions should help as players get more familiar with each other and the adjusted style of play.

Decent start, but a looooong way to go.
With the weight lifted from the team and a fresh start to the season, we have the opportunity to be competitive in the WAC this year. The guys have to learn how to close out games.
Over on the rivals board, all the kool-aid drinkers are jumping up and down wetting themselves like 5 year-olds on Christmas morning. If you didn't know the score, you'd swear we actually won the game.
My hope is that the fan base will snap out of it and take a measured approach the rest of the year. We're going to have bad games again this year, that's just going to happen. If some of these fans aren't careful, they will have climbed up a steep hill of excitement only to fall off a cliff when the hard times hit. I think we owe it to Pooh to take a realistic, long-term approach. There are no quick fixes.
That's my plan, anyway. I might have to spend more time on this board than the rivals board to keep my sanity, tho...
