Knowing what we now know of these players, let's consider who was a good sign, and who didn't work out.

Dayne Ashley, transferred, did not work out.

Jay Ashton, transferred, did not work out.

Tra Boger, good sign.

Gerald Brobgey, undersized, needed to fill holes. OK.

Willie Christian, did not work out.

Bobby Hoover, injured, good sign.

Kass Kemper, did not work out.

Kassem Khromachou, did not work out.

Antonio Mason, good sign.

Wallace Mateen, injured, some production, OK.

Chris McGee, excellent sign.

Cletus McGee, grades, homesick, did not work out.

Brandon Rottmayer, congenital defect, did not work out.

Laine Sambrooks, transferred, did not work out.

Jeff Sanders, good sign.

Darren Sapp, good sign.

Tristan Smith, grade difficulties, OK.

Brandon Spencer, good sign.

Joe Traina, excellent sign.

Matt Traina, excellent sign.

Chris Williams, grade problems, did not work out.

Bruce Youmans, good sign.

Of the 22, 12 were good signs. Most that came in with suspect grades failed stay eligible.

Assuming the 12 graduate, that puts us at a 55% graduation rate for that year. Is that correct? Do the transfers count against us in the graduation rate calculations?

Actually, I need to make one correction.

Jeff Sanders transferred and was not a good sign.

What do you mean by that? If he had a "congenital defect," that is news to him and his family! (I belong to neither set, btw)

Potentially one of the best DEs ever to play for Tulane, he suffered a career-ending broken neck before he was able make his maximum impact.
