You lucky bastard.....drink one for me....
Dude, this place rocks!!!!! I have had many beers for you and all of our friends!!!!!!!!!! I walk out of my hotel and see the fedEx forum and it is HUGE!!!!This is a fun place guys!!!!
I am geeting ready to shower and head back out for the night!!!
you could make a night of it within 2 blocks of where you are now. just pick a spot. you picked a crummy day to be outside LOL
Blues City Cafe has good eats at surprisingly good prices for being on Beale Street. Rum Boogie is good for music and drink. BB Kings Blues Place has good music but can get crowded at times. The Grizz are on the road so the crowds won't be too bad. Pat O'Brien's on Beale is one of the newer attractions.
Catfish or ribs at Blues City.

yes, but Pat O's requires a second mortgage.
Pat O's is definitely my fav bar on beale. what's sad is that all the bartenders, bouncers, waiters (waitresses) and piano players in the Piano Bar of Pat O's know myself and my 5 or 6 other fraternity brothers that would be classified as regulars or addicts. Gill's is a great bar too (also known as the regulars), but it's on Highland. Alfred's (dance floor's loaded with the ladies) and 152 (Oxygen Bar always has hot chicks) are a blast also. Don't forget yuppy (not a bad thing per se) filled Blue Monkey-downtown, Sakesui, Earnstine and Hazels (sp?, ok more hippy) along main and front...they're pretty good too! Saucer's a must, Pat O's (at least for the chicks and the Piano Bar), Silky's (diver time!) and hit up Blue City for din-din and you'll be good to go. Have fun, Go Tigers.
UCF_AlumniLXA,
How long are you in town?
The Redbirds got rained out tonight, but be sure to check them out at AutoZone Park Tuesday night.AZP is a fantastic ball park.
Go to Silky O' Sullivan's on Beale St and get into a beer chugging contest with the goats.
Those goats can drink anybody under the table.
Glad to see so many are on this thread...... I feel like a journalist documenting the drunken nights of Beale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll hold you to that!
I wish you could relax a bit, let go, and at least try to have a good time while you're here.
Entry into the journal.... 6:30am wake up call.... OUCH...... :crying:
This might end up being the most interesting thread in the history of this board.
Keep it coming bro.....this is good...

Free Business Tip:
At/during a Company Function, don't "drink your face in".
"They" are always watching.

looks like Memphis may well be the '06 road game I make! sounds like a blast...definitely have to leave the kiddies at home!!

Silky(sp) was closing down
for the record, closing time on beale street is 5am.
Take a trolly ride. You get to see a lot of things you don't normally see, and it only cost $.60.

Dear Journal..... Got out of meetings/training at 4pm and stopped by quickly to enter journal entry and head out to Beale Street.... It is currently 410pm CST and currently hurting from last nights beale run.... Gotta get more food in me and bud lights to make the rest of the night.... Fist stop is rendevous(sp) and then its in Gods hands...... Here we go.... I just called for my 6:30 wake up call so I don't forget.....

Thanks for the tip.... I will do my best.... :D
im only about 3 blocks from you right now - i better get home while its safe LOL
Drinks: try SWIG
Food: I generally stay away from Bar food, so my favorite rest are:
Texas de Brazil (all you can eat Meat House next to the Peabody Place)
Blue Fin - upscale Amer/Sushi (Mid Amer Mall)
61 - Amer fine dining at reasonable price (across the street from the Peabody Place)
Blue Fin is really good, mmm! SWIG's cool, but kind of expensive (for a broke grad student). On Friday's and Saturday's, some of the bars close at 6 a.m., like Pat O's and Alred's (I think). Too bad your leaving Friday, you could see the usual Pi Kapp train stop in at Pat O's on Saturday night from 9 p.m. till we're too drunk to stand and sing Sara! Sara! Swingin' on a Sh!thouse Door!...the all-to-famous Pat O's Piano Bar Song. Go Tigers.
Got to Memphis at Noon - Been drinking ever since!!! Staying at the Hampton Inn Suites Downtown next to the Peabody.... Been to the Peabody Exchange McGuiness...... Had many a pints there and now off to shower and go out again!!!! WHAT A TOWN!!!!! I am told to go to Rendevous and the Flying Sauser!!! Where else should I go??????

I am stayin at the Hampton in Peabody Place so I have seen all of these while walking around last night... I do want to go to the Texas De Brazil sometime this week..... Going to Rondevous (sp) in 10 minutes....
and then its in Gods hands...... Here we go....
In my experience, any night on the town where those words are uttered at the outset turns out to be pretty spectacular... in a train wreck sorta way. :D

the couple of times i've been to issac hayes' resturant in peabody place, its been good. not particularly cheap, but good none the less.
I'd love to be at Rendezvous right now.
I'm stuck out in Collierville trying to fix some software bugs before we have a load this weekend.
ESPN classic don't have ****** on us.
Journal Entry 10:43CST...... Going back out to hit Beale..... Showered and refreshed...... 6:40am wake up call will be here before I know it..... have to get more beer..... Wish me luck..... Hopefully Silkys wil be fun tonight..... Flying Saucer is on the agenda....... Other brs will be attended upon sight and withing stumbling distance....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did we win?
Nope. Zephyrs Slip Past Redbirds, 3-1.
Flying Saucer is on the agenda.......
I work in the building where Flying Saucer is located (and Swigs).............
I have got to find this guy.............. :applause:

**** New Orleans!
Anyone else notice that his wake up call changed from 6:30 to 6:40????
I think someone's trying to get those precious 10 extra minutes of sack time.
Damn, I'm going to miss this place when I leave.
1) This thread needs to be in the archives when it's done.
2) OwlJacket, we are SO going to Memphis for the basketball tournament next year (hey, between Rice & UH, I should have at least one team in it). Or at least, I'm going. You should come with me. :D

every team makes the conference tourney next year.
Woo-hoo! Rice has clinched a spot in the tournament!
(End of digression... don't wanna ruin UCF_AlumniLXA's thread while he's out getting 'faced.)
Good morning Journal, Oh how I hurt...... The pounding will not stop..... Got to get up and wash the drunkness off of me before I got to class.... I will hope to start again around 5pm if I make the day.. pray for me.....
