Quote:* Nov. 7: Democrat Harold Ford Jr. gives a thumbs up after a stop at the Little Rebel Bar and Grill during his campaign for U.S. Senate in Tenn.

lol.
That isn't irony. It is a carefully staged photo op.
He is also conservative.... or at least that is what the commercial said with him in it and he approved it.

Yea him in front of the rebel flag is a photo op.... A democrat saying he is conservative just makes me laugh... lmfao

Fiscally, he's probably more conservative than most Republicans; at least, more so than the ones who have been in control of Congress these past few years.
My biggest problem with Jr. is that he is from one of the crookedest family in all of Tennessee political history. He has tried to separate himself from his family, and I considered voting for him even though I usually vote republican. But in the end, his family ties made me go against him.

Ahh, yes, sins of the father. I voted for him because I couldn't stand Corker's campaign, or him telling me he thought stem cell research was akin to abortion, which he did (or one of his staffers did) in an e-mail I sent all the candidates asking for their stance on issues I cared about. He also supports the No Child Left Behind Act, which is an abysmal failure.

It was Corker's negative campaign that made me come as close to voting for a democrat as I have in years.

From what I have heard, they are both crooked and you were picking the lesser of two evils. If ford didn't have the family baggage then I think he would have won. I am new to the area and I was getting a kick out of all the mud slinging taking place.
The bad thing about the Alabama gubernatorial election was that both slides were mud-slinging pretty badly. Makes me sick.
