Quote:I'm pretty certain when Segrest was referring to our speed, he was referring to as compared to Alabama last season. But it's neither here nor there. If you dont want to consider it a compliment, that's perfectly fine, but it was a compliment. There was nothing sarcastic about his tone when he said it, nor did he have one of those smug grins on his face... it was a genuine compliment (or the about the closest thing you'll ever get to it coming from him).

don't worry about it 85, attalla has too much hatred for alabama to even try and consider that to be a compliment. fact is, alabama does have a great defensive system and to be compared to them is a compliment for anyone. coach kines knows how to get his players going and this years defense may not be as experienced, but they will be even faster than last years, so being compared to either this years or last years defense is a compliment.

To some but not anyone, there are a lot of defenses that have more speed and better schemes than UAT but they offenses that put point on the board so that their second team players get to play and that distort the numbers. I saw Auburns defense on the field with UATs in last years game and it wasn't even close as to had the better/faster defense and they did it with a crappy DC. I would much rather be compared to that defense. Face it, UAT is second fidel in the state of Alabama and when we get a coach and improved facilities, you could fall to third as fast as the AU defense.

It's fact. Now deal with it. UAT has to buy wins early in the season because they want their record to sound better than the team actually is. I may have stretched it a little with UAB surpassing UAT but Auburn has already done it. Auburn is the standard in the state and everyone else is trying to catch them. Don't go quoting me ancient history because I've heard it all before and still don't care. Rome use to be the most power nation on earth.
In the first three weeks, how many times is UAB on National TV? How many times is BamarU on National TV?

It happens from time to time.

buy wins? every big time program does the same thing, everyone plays easier teams during the course of the season, so don't even try that crap. yes i'll give auburn credit, they have done well over the last few years while alabama was having problems, but if you think things will stay that way forever then i have some oceanfront property in arizona to sell you.

yes we all know that the whole country is just excited to see uab on tv. 01-wingedeagle

Yes, buy wins, you know, the exchange of money for an easy win. Just because everyone does it, doesn't make it right. I thought uat was a leader but I guess by now you guys have gotten use to following. Didn't uat go 10-2 last year (not a down year by anyone's standard) and still got beat like a red head step child by Auburn. The thrill is gone. My how the mighty have fallen.

There you go, be like your team and copy what others have done. How original.
"Buy wins?"

Yes, buy wins. Look at the home games and tell me how happy an Alabama season ticket holder is to pay top dollar to get to witness those exciting, high quality matchups. I'm sure that the TV networks are champing at the bit to make La. Monroe, Duke, Vandy and Florida International their feature games of the week.

Add to that the thought that if Bama has a winning season mowing down straw men and is in the mix for the NC that anyone voting will look at that schedule and snicker. Happened to Auburn a couple of years ago, and it can happen to you.

Kids can be blatantly honest. But the only childish remarks were your last to responses. I know it's hard to face the fact that the team you were brainwashed into loving is now just a middle of the pack SEC team. Just thank your lucky stars for Vandy, UK, Ole Miss, and MSU, at least for now.

you don't have a clue about me man, so don't act like you know me.

hmm middle of the pack teams win 10 games? has uab ever come close to winning 10 games before? alabama has done it 28 seasons now. by the way, that is a college football record.

I do know you, you're Mr. Denial. I know you had 10 wins last and don't doubt the record but when you're buying wins then it makes sense. But uat is still a middle of the pack sec team as of the last 5 years and counting.

right, of course, you know me all so well. 04-bow

what teams haven't had a few down years? can you tell me where usc, oklahoma, miami, and texas were during the 90's? all of them had down years then, and are now mostly back on top of college football. if you think alabama will be down forever, then you have little knowledge of the sport and should stop acting like you know. so again, buying wins, i'd rather be the one paying for easy wins like oklahoma and georgia are doing, than the one having to go out and have to beg teams for a big check.

And when UAB has been around 100 years, we'll whip them out and compair records then. But as it stands now, we've done well considering the expectations in our state. Now it's time to get it to the next level. the question is who will be taking us to the next level, CWB or someone else?

That's a rhetorical question right? ;-)

On ESPN's cold hard fact segment, the question was asked which conference was the best, they said the SEC and they mentioned:
1. Auburn was first
2. LSU
3. Florida
4. Georgia
5. Tennessee
6. South Carolina

No uat. So like I said and now the leader in sports implied, uat is middle of the pack at best or bottom half maybe more accurate.

so you take every word said by the "experts" and believe it? you are one gullable little man. they also said alabama was not a top 25 team before last season, and where did they finish in the final poll....i believe it was #8. ;-)
For the last time. We do not log into this forum to find out where the redneck bammers finished last year. We do not care. Let me repeat that to you because you obviously are slow.

WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT ALABAMA SPORTS. We never have, we never will. If you want to discuss them, go somewhere else.

No, we just don't like having it shoved down our throat....especially by you.
You bring up the Red Menstrual Tide because you know it will piss us off, then you say we want to talk about them? What a bafoon. We get the Menstrual Tide shoved in our faces on TV, on the radio, (Slimebaum and JOX) enough. This is a UAB board. I wish someone could make you understand that. Why don
