I have been told by the site that avatars can only be 100x100 pixels. but i know there are folks who have avatars bigger than that. can someone explain? the one i want to use isn't that big... like 120x140.

go ahead and upload it and see if it takes it. The policy is their because we had some people who had huge avatars that were warping the board.
