• Uzoh would be a first team All Sun Belt player, and Bozeman outplayed him in just about all areas. Bozeman's defense was amazing today.

You know, people see things they want to see. Uzoh got off 14 shots. Solo didn't block any of them. Uzoh made just four, so he had an off night shooting. That's not necessarily great defense. Jeff loves Solo, so he's always going to see the cup half full, and not half empty. And also I think Solo has been designated to receive the "star" treatment, so every thing he does is going to be magnified. I'm not saying he didn't play defense. I'm just saying it had very little to do with Uzoh having a bad shooting night.
As to Solo outplaying Uzoh, let's look at the stats. Solo 5-13. Uzoh 4-14. Not much difference there. Uzoh bad night from the 3 point line. 1-8. Solo 4-7, but most were made late in the game when the game was all but over. But let's look at the other stats. Uzoh 4 rebounds. Solo 1. Assists. Uzoh 5. Solo 1. Solo outscored Uzoh. I'll give him that, but when you factor in the 5 assists, that's at least 10 more team points that Uzoh accounted for, assuming they were all 2 point shots. If there were any three's that increases the value of his assists. Solo was responsible for 1 other team score. So you see, there was no way that Solo really outplayed Uzoh. There are a lot more things to the game than just the total points. And when your team loses, your stats are pretty meaningless.
Eh1998 loves C, so he sees things the rest of us probably don't. In all fairness, I agree that C should be getting 15-20 minutes right now. And I admit I'm partial to III, so I see good things instead of the bad where he's concerned. And speaking of III, he took five 3 point shots and made just one. It wasn't great defense. He got the shots off, and just missed them tonight. I don't think anyone blocked one of his shots or even made him alter his arc on them. He always gets the ball away lightning fast, so he wasn't rushing his shots. Just an off night. We give way too much credit to our defense when the other team has an off night shooting, especially three pointers. Just my opinion. And I'm not picking on Jeff. Just saying that we all see things that we want to see. That's just life. I'm sure most people believe their kids are beautiful, but you don't see a lot of beautiful people, young or old. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that certainly applies to basketball.
