Quote:The earliest lesson for John Calipari as new coach at Kentucky? Be careful what you wish for. "I was ecstatic that we got down 18 because I wanted to see what we were made of," Calipari said after UK rallied to beat Miami of Ohio 72-70 on a last-second basket.

That's why he chewed completely through 3 towels right? What a lying pos.

Wow...
03-puke
I think your ref's missed the last second foul... on redhawks player... but hey good luck with that SEC
thang , lol glad they were down 18 what a riot 03-lmfao
The next presser will sound like this, "Its good we lost at home to Montana A&M that way we know what we need to work on to get better going forward."

Ahhh. Sweet memories of classic Cal spins.
I cant wait till he tells KY fans about a danger game with some smaller school, they wont like that too much

Exactly.

He also told the Kentucky faithful, "Don't be surprised by this, we're going to be everyone's Superbowl".

I felt a little queasy when I read that.
Are the for sale signs up yet ?
The KY faithful will buy his sh*t just like we did. Then when he leaves and screws them in the process they will wonder how in the heck they bought into all his crap.
I can't wait to watch Sweathog hand them an in-conference divisional loss at home...and laugh at the meltdown afterward 03-lmfao
The hell that would have risen if they had lost....would have been worth the price of admission. Because as Kentucky fans already know - John Calipari can't lose. That's why they hired him. Little do they know he can't actually coach.

"Cal Kool Aide, made from 100% bull$hit since 1959"
Best BS? Most of the stuff on this board
Don't forget his classic. "This is everybody's Super Bowl. Everyone will always get up to play us."

I can't wait to see them frothing and gushing over "Camp Cal" when the UK fans are so impressed with the fact that he "cancels" thanksgiving for his team and makes them practice.

I can't stand that SOB.

So true...wonder how long it will take them to figure it out. I give Cal less than 4 years at Kentucky.

Well, it takes a village..........OF IDIOTS!!!! I swear our program feels "cleansed". An exorcism of sorts.
vomit..i just saw it on sportscenter...where did those glasses come from?
Ha Ha Ha ... this is so hilarious. What a load of crap. Good call, BTF & Tigers412, on the "everybody's Super Bowl" comment - he may be saving that one for later. Kentucky has all sorts of talent and will get better over time, but you have to be seriously concerned as a UK fan when you have to get a last-second shot at home during a "buy game" against a team that got beat worse two days earlier by something called "Towson".

Oh. yeah. He said he was getting hard of seeing, and had been way to vain to wear them, but his wife finally forced him to do it. He took them on and off 20 times during one interview I saw.

Cousins is already saying it, so he must've already told it to the team. I laughed hard when I saw that comment by Cousins. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I'm really with the other folks on here who feel like they've just taken a shower or been exorcised. It really is refreshing not to have to hear a constant stream of verbal diarrhea spewing from the anointed one.
Here's another tidbit. They don't seem to make free throws at Kentucky either. Same ole x-coach! I would fouled a ton in the last 2 minutes if I was Miami of Ohio.

I can hear it now...."You know that beat us at home at Memphis too and that was the year we played for the NCAA Championship. That team used that game as a learning experience and we will do that too!"
It would have been fun if they had lost just to see the meltdown. Contrary to popular opinion here I though KY looked like they had loads of talent and will be a very good team by the end of the year. This will be a very good team even if Cal can't coach.

Cousins is a horse under the boards and Wall scored the winning last second basket. The only reason Miami of Ohio was in the game was because of lights out shooting. I knew the "Everybody's Superbowl" line would be used, but it is somewhat true. Think back to 2 years ago how much talent we had but how close lesser teams played us.
We need to create a list of Calism's such as:

Rarified Air
We are everybody's Superbowl

i feel you on the talent, but there is a level of strategy that is missing in calipari's arsenal. there is no way on GOD'S green earth that team should have stayed with kentucky.

What seems to be overlooked is the fact that with about 15 seconds to go, Uky was up by two and John Wall was fouled. He made one of two free throws. Had he made both, that would have made it a four point game and his last second "heroics" would likely have been unncessary.

Yes, it was reminding me of another game where we didn't foul and let the other team force overtime. The only exception is uk had 6 seconds left instead of 2.

I only saw the 2nd half, but there sure was a lot of reaching and bumping being allowed.

OMGosh!!!!! POST OF THE YEAR! I was sitting here thinking about how I would be pulling for the Viles during that game, and how ironic that is, and then I read your post. You have no idea how funny that is to me.

Damn if he didn't do just that. You made my night! 03-lmfao
