If they add Houston then would it still be the BE? Or would be the Big Conference with an East & West division... Just saying.
Also I agree with the first response, we would be in a BCS conference... Of course, unless the BE lost theirs to the MWC....

Tigerscane, I appreciate how you stated this as a possibility and not an actual forgone conclusion. I think it would be great if it happened but either way things will work out for this athletic program. We just need a little faith and optimism. I know many of you have had to have that for years and years but I do believe we are improving and that more and more people want to see this program have success in all sports. Go Tigers!!!!!!!
OK tigerscane, I'll play the game. I would absolutely love for Memphis to get into the Big 12 with Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma and the other incredible Big 12 Universities. This would be a win for both our Football and Basketball Programs and makes a lot more sense than joining the Big East which is geographically out of our area. However, I would miss the intense rivalry of playing Louisville and Cinci. On the other hand, if the Big East asked Memphis to join, it would paint an incredible smile upon my face and I would absolutely love to have Syracuse, U Conn, Georgetown, Villanova, Pittsburg, and the other Big East Universities as our Conference mates. Either way I would feel like I died and gone to heaven. Would probably wake up in the middle of the night for the first few days thinking I was only having a fantasy dream.

I, too, would love to see the Tigers in the Big 12, but I think it is a long shot at best. The big 12 would probably go for closer teams. I think that they would probably make a run at Arkansas. AR would probably pass, as they are already in the SEC. Next up would probably be TCU, as they have rivarly implecations with Big 12 South. Thirdly, would probably be Tulsa, as they have decent football and decent basketball, and are geographically closer to the Big 12 North. Fourth would be the remaining C-USA/Texas schools (Rice / Houston / UTEP) as for the same reason as TCU.
But that's just my 2 cents...

Tony Dungy has as much interest as coaching here, as Frosty the Snowman does in walking thru Downtown Hell in gasoline underwear.
He retired from coaching to be near his family, and only having to do 1 or 2 football broadcasts a week allows him that, whereas coaching and recruiting is a year round thing.
