MJS had what might have been a pretty serious auto accident a couple of nights ago. He hit a tree a few blocks from his home, and pretty well totalled his car. Thanks to air bags, although he spent a little time at the hospital for observation, he seemingly didn't have any serious injuries. He didn't know exactly what happened. Might have fallen asleep at the wheel.

That's the bad news. The good news is that he's planning to be at the game Sunday, so I know we're all thankful that he was able to walk away without any life threatening injuries. We'd probably have to cancel the game Sunday if he couldn't attend, because he has probably never missed a home game for anything less than a family obligation he couldn't get out of or he was sick in bed with big time fever. MJS is, along with a few others on this board, Trojan basketball. I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this to you guys, but since he's one of our greatest fans, I thought you should know.04-cheers
Hope he's doing well. Glad to hear he's ok!

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm probably no more sore than after playing one of my sons in basketball for an hour in the backyard. Apparently seat belts and airbags were pretty good inventions. The estimate on the car is $12,200. State Farm will total it if the cost to repair is 70% of the car's value. It was a pretty brand new car so it will be close. It's more than 70% of what I paid for it late last spring, but I got about $3500 in rebates and about another $1000 off the sticker.

Talking about missing games, about 11 years ago, my son's Bar Mitzvah was on a Saturday night in January. I saw the early schedule and saw we were playing S. Alabama at home that night. My first thought was, boy I would hate to miss that game, but obviously family comes first. Low and behold the game was subsequently moved to Sunday afternoon for an ESPN telecast. Don't recall another Saturday game, moved to Sunday, for ESPN in 28 years of being a fan. I guess it had to be Devine intervention. I'm not a particularly religious person, but seems like something was looking out for me when I hit that tree the other night.

Yeah. But God must have really been pissed off at that tree.01-lauramac2
Wow, we can talk about how to get a BMW in your driveway at the game.
