Boise scores a touchdown to go up on LaTech 36-28 with 7:41 left in the game. They go for 2. An extra point would have put them up two possessions. They got the 2, to go up 10, but it still seemed to be an odd call.

True. But, La Tech had been moving the ball really well in the second half. Better for two possesions where a touchdown and field goal gets the other team a tie, rather than a touchdown a field goal gets them a win.
