Full Version: My thoughts on the Knoxville Game.

I posted this earlier, but thought it deserved it's own thread.

We have the opportunity to create one great memory from this god-awful season. People forget, in 96, ya'll lost to not just the Memphis Tigers... but one of the worst Memphis teams ever. 96 was an especially horrible year, even for us (kinda like this year).

It's gonna be a fun day on the hill.

Ya'll hillbillies need to lay off my wife though. She's going home with me. I know a woman with a full set of teeth is attractive to ya'll, but she's mine. She ain't gonna sing about no Smoggy Smoke or no telephone bills. Neither will I. Sorry... ain't gonna happen. We live in the 75% plus of the state that ain't Rocky. And we have a telephone. As a matter of fact, we have blackberries and internet access. And while I love my wife, I'll never describe her as half bear and half cat, nor is she wild as a mink. That's demeaning. She's college educated for crying out loud, from a good school with running water, you would have nothing to talk about. Nor will we ever advocate the killing of federal officers. I mean we get angry when they talk about killing cops in rap songs. I hold you to the same standard.

So, yes... ya'll will probably kill us. That's fine. Be proud! You're one of the 110 or so Division 1 teams that can kill us! But, us Tiger fans are going home to our indoor plumbing, electricity, women with teeth, Quarterbacks not named Jim Bob Cooter, and cellular service.

What I'm trying to say is, take it easy on us! And, even though we will lose badly at least we won't be wearing creamsicle orange while we do it! Yee-Haw!

We've all had our own encounters with Knoxville fans. Encounters that made us Hate the Knoxville Vols. Mine was an elementary school teacher that did her best to turn the whole class against me just because I was a Memphis fan. The point is... Many of us would LOVE to cheer for a team from our home state that is a great program... but time and time again, their fans have made that impossible. So, this is the thread to share your venom towards the Knoxville Vols.
Dont worry about this game, big guy.

After Memphis loses you can claim a moral victory from the win in 1996. Although moral victory "mileage" should run out after a decade 03-nerner
Why? You're still living off the NC of the same decade after some of the best luck any team in college history had. You weren't even the best team in your division. Arkansas beat you like a dog and lost the game on a fluke fumble.
Have a great time Big Guy, You are the best tiger fan I know. You and your lovely wife enjoy the trip and the drive and come home safely to west tenn. Your son will be well taken care of while you are gone and of course spoiled beyound what he is now

Men with teeth are good too 03-lmfao
Jim Bob Cooter could start over any QB you have on your team this year.

Probably cause the opposing defense falls over laughing at the name.
Unfortunately for Tiger fans, the Tommy West joke about Lane Kiffin is plastered all over the Peyton Manning locker room at UT, and the UT players are really mad. Eric Berry and Monterio Hardesty especially, don't like the joke. Berry said yesterday, "It's going to be a physical game."

Here's to a great game and NO INJURIES.
Yeah... read that article in Knox News Sentinel. Pretty lame. It's laughable that Eric Berry would get fired up over a joke that stupid. I thought more of him than that.

Gee, the thought of Tennessee actually being fired up to play us is so scary. I just knew they were gonna play their third string against us. Cause us po folks dont matter, we just Tiger High.

Geezz, Give me a frickin' break! Your team SHOULD be fired up! You'll probably win cause we're lousy. But, You know you have more lucky wins against us than any school in the country. You are scared to death that you are going to be leaving Neyland Saturday once again breathing a huge sigh of relief that you almost lost to Tiger High. That's why you are hanging around this message board. It's funny, much funnier than West's joke.
Did he really make a joke about Kiffin?

That depends on if you require jokes to be funny. To me, it was really more of a failed anecdote.

A post full of, almost confidence, and excuses.
What was the joke?

If I were Tommy I wouldn't want my name and the word "joke" closely juxtaposed after this season.

Talk about easy targets.

I don't see any excuses. Unless "being lousy" is an excuse. I don't consider it one.

speaking of moral victories, by my count the Big Arnge is 2-0 and actually leads the SEC in moral victories??
If we keep hardesty to under 500 yards rushing I will be amazed.

This may be as lopsided as the mid 80's when those arses beat us like by 40 points

I wanna 03-puke thinking about it

While utk claims moral victories from games this season. While playing on a supposed equal footing.

utk has better players than Memphis.

However, they do not have the tyope of players that LSU and Florida and Alabama have right now (even while utk trolls dance about a close loss). If we were facing Florida Saturday- 100% chance of a loss.

utk- not so much.

And mods- still unsire why you allow this board to be target practice for trolls. I know a lot of our fans invite this with Uncle Tomming our own program, but I fail to see the point.

Kinda dumb.

Oh. That wasn't funny. And it doesn't look like bulletin board material either.

But whatever.

We're talking about a TW joke that he used in August? Are things so bad on the hill that they pulled that crap up for Memphis? Seems really strange but I guess Kiffin feels like he was the brunt of the jokes when he was talking instead of the dog.

UT fans, enjoy beating a bad Memphis team. Wow, this victory will put you over the top in the BCS rankings! Now I guess I'll have to be pulling for Ole Piss next week... What a terrible situation that is.
