I don't know about Bozeman, but Alex, according to Coach Shields statements, seems to be doing well on the defensive end. If we can't keep people out of the paint, then it's going to be who best among the big men can rotate and block and alter shots inside. That's where Montrelle might move to the front of the pack.

Burton is not a very physical inside player. Not a great rebounder. More of a finesse player from what I've seen. Mike isn't very tall for an inside player, but with his weight loss he might have improved his jumping ability, so he could play at the four or five. Courtney should be quicker than most of the other big men, so you might need to have either Mike or Courtney at the four, with Mike playing the five at times.
Montrelle might end up being the main man at the five with his rebounding ability. Bails drawback might be, and this is just speculation, his lack of quickness in moving over to stop penetration. But it's important we have some shooters on the perimeter, and III and Nick are not as strong defensively as they are offensively, so we need someone to cover their backs. I'm sure Steve is really having some difficulty in putting the pieces in place at this time, but I feel confident he'll figure it all out.04-cheers

I have trouble believing a Steve Shields coached team will be weak defensively. He'll find 5 guys he want to play defense. Offense, who knows.

You would think we would know how to hold onto our strength. However, JJ's teams were not that good defensively, so who can tell. I think our talent is better this year, though. I have to think that the juco perimeter players were brought in for that reason.
