The Grizzlies are a team that has all the potential in the world, but it seems like they have no competitive fire. Right now we have one of the best line-ups in the NBA. Zach and Marc are playing like all stars, OJ is becoming a superstar and Gay is..the same old Rudy.

What needs to happen:

A) Get a different coach. Hollins is a nice guy, but there have been some coaching decisions that do not make any sense- Thabeet not on the floor on THE DEFENSIVE PLAY OF THE GAME! Is that not why we took him #2 overall..to play D!! By not putting him in we are kinda dmitting we shat ourselves in the draft. Also, as much as I hate him running his mouth after ONE GAME, he needed to play A.I. more than 18 minutes.

B) I love Rudy Gay...BUT his time is up here UNLESS something clicks and he plays like he gives a damn. He is a true liability on defense and there is no excuse at all bc he has what any GM/coach looks for in an athelte (length, speed, athleticsm). He wants to re-sign for $12m a year, I would not pay him $10m right now. Our best bet is to shop him. He has alot of value right now and we could get someone VERY good.

C) We have jumped out on Nuggets and the Kings but when we go to our bench there is a HUGE dropoff. We need to sure up the bench somehow..starting with players that can play defense. A.I. will score, Arthur can score also. I like Carroll's play BUT have been unimpressed with Sam Young so far. Thabeet also looks in over his head. Marcus Williams is doing fine I believe, but no one except for Carroll plays good defense. Id say go out and get Thabo Sefolosha from OKC...or someone like that. He played great defense on Kobe and is athletic as well. He could stop Kevin Martin from dropping 48 on us i believe ha.

D) Get a point guard who can run the team and cut down on turnovers. I realize Conley doesnt committ all of our T.O.s but as the PG u have to run the team. I believe a trade built up of Gay and Conley Thabeet could bring in a solid SF and a high draft pick or something of the sort. (Granger and Pacers #1 in 2010)


DISCLAIMER: i believe the Grizz have a solid 5-6 players. They have 2 BIGS that are playin as well as anyone in the NBA. Mayo has really came on this season. I dont believe any trades are necassary right now BUT the team needs to have a fire lit under theire a$$ and start playing with the talent they have. The only thing I believ is necessary right now is suring up the bench.

Conley had 6 assists and 2 TOs in that game. A 3-1 ratio is excellent and I'd take that every single game.

Defense and bench production are the two biggest deficiencies right now. Work on those two and this team instantly becomes a playoff team.

I agree. Ima big fan of Conley, but he can fall into the shadows alot in games. He needs to be a leader.

Hollins isn't going anywhere because if they did - it would be a blow to the Grizz brass for making the hire to begin with. He would really have to tank for that move to come about and the problem there is they have enough talent to be competitive. They need someone to teach them discipline and I don't think you will get that with Hollins. Hes a great assistant - but not the Hubie Brown we need.
