So, I missed the memo here, obviously. Scrushy, Siegelman, Blount, LaPierre, and Buckelew were all exonerated?
Langford was the fourth county commissioner convicted of sewer-related finances. The others were Mary Buckelew, Chris McNair and Gary White. (A fifth commissioner, Jeff Germany, was convicted of misapplying funds and conspiracy.)
Those convictions cover...men, women, black, white, Republicans, Democrats...pretty much all encompassing. The only name missing is Betty Fine Collins. Makes one wonder...
if you'll read down theres one guy that talks about how much LL was helping the schools with the dome and the 1% jeff co sales tax creating new schools for Bham and thanking LL for that.

I honestly had no idea that there was this much hatred toward white people. After reading this sh*t, I have no confidence that MLK's dream will ever truly become a reality. I really, really hope that this is an isolated subset of LL supporters, and not the consensus viewpoint of Birmingham's black citizens. If so, no wonder our city is in ruins.
Just as I would thank "Duke" Cunningham for his service and heroism in the Viet Nam War, I would not excuse his later accepting bribes while a Congressman. Langford did some very positive things while President of the County Commission to improve Jeffco schools and as Mayor did some things well for getting B'ham to think more postively about its future. None of these things excuse his taking those "gifts" or whatever while shaping decisions on bond swaps and sales while on the County Commission.
Since they pleaded guilty, the other culprits may never face trial so we may never know the full story of their roles in making their millions in the deals while Langford got , at most, about $700,000 in merchandise. Was race a factor in the prosecution? Like in most cases, that will be "in the eye of the beholder" to judge after all the actions and punishments are handed out.
Seeing as how Judge Coogler is a Bush appointee, I'm sure the converstion will end up at "It's George Bush's fault."
I just went and looked at the facebook page for 3 minutes and I already have brain rot. That is the most ignorant, racist, uneducated and grammatically pathetic stuff I have ever seen. Nothing but a bunch of idiots farting out of their mouth.
Clearly everyone in that group is just joking, beacuse we all know that racism only exists in white people.

As has been proven many times over many years, there is no trait found in humans that is specific to only one gender, race, culture, nationality or faith. The "PO, PITIFUL ME" syndrome is wasted on the thoughtful of all of the above.
