Coming in at 10 pages under 2,000, Speaker Nancy "Botox Face" Pelosi debuted the new House healthcare reform bill. Employers are taxed at 8% if they don't supply healthcare for workers. Citizens are assessed an extra 2.5% federal income tax if they don't have insurance. There IS a public option to be created by the Dept of Health and Human Services.

This also leaves out the expected 800 pages of amendments and comes in at $1,055,000,000,000.00 over 10 years.

How any of this will lower costs, I have no idea. Adding 1 more "competitor" to the realm of healthcare won't do squat for costs.

Regardless of your position on the actual issue, what good was that? What purpose did it serve? Stupid mindless drivel like that is what is wrong with this country. Why is it impossible for you to have a reasoned, rational, civil debate with someone who holds different opinions than you.

It's just an observation. No more, no less. This is a messageboard so nothing really has a purpose. I can hold a reasoned, rational, and civil debate. Go ahead. Start debating. Give me your pros & cons.

Bob and weave, mixed, bob and weave. "He denigrated Nancy Pelsi, therefore his whole point is invalid!!"

If only everyone could show our elected officials the same respect that liberals showed Bush while he was in office...

Mixdup is the master of derailment and completely ignoring the issue at hand.
Pelosi's storebought teeth cost more that the annual budget for UAB football.
FYI the bill that created the interstate system was 26 pages long. That's all it took to create a national network of highways. This "healthcare" bill has provisions in it that make vending machines post nutritional values of their products on the machine. Exactly what does that have to do with healthcare or health insurance? My bet is that the final bill, if one does ever come out, will be over 3,000 pages.
this isn't about healthcare/health insurance. this is about power, and fundamentally transforming our Nation
into somthing akin to much of contemporary Europe or the 'banana republics' of Central/S. America/Asia, PRC.
In our Country, self-reliance, freedom and hard work are being supplanted by the 'entitlement mentality'.
Some [in our current admin.] think it unfair that our Country is so affluent, and the worlds' only 'superpower'.
You know, the 'do as I say, not as I do' crowd. (ie Marxists/socialists/collectivists/enviro wacko's/'blame America first'ers)
Therefore, they want to take us down a notch or two. If this was simply about healthcare/health insurance reform,
I'm certain it could be accomplished in less than 1000-1900+ pages, and with much less bureaucracy.
