Its obvious most people on the PFL board believe CU will win. I guess we can officially say this is a first! Can we say we are expected to get our first PFL win this saturday? Looks like it will be rain free and a great day for football.
I think it should be a major disappointment, almost a setback if the Camels don't win, a position they've never been in before except for the Birmingham Southern game.
Still I was at last years game November 22 when Morehead State beat the Camels 42-7 in a very cold (in the teens) and we had to travel through snow to get there. I reckon the question is have the Camels got that much better or has Morehead State deteriorated.
I think CU will win but this is a measuring stick game. We have come close several times against more talented teams. This could be a chance to measure ourselves against a team that has a similar talent level because of injuries and graduations. I think Morehead State has lost quite a bit from last year on the offensive side of the ball. Their defense is still very strong. I think it will be closer either way. A few plays went Morehead State's way last year the really turned the tide against a team that was a little banged up at that point of the season. I wouldn't call it a major disappointment if we don't win. I do think and hope we will win this week. I think it will just show how much farther the program has to go to be a consistent team at the PFL level.
Will be a major letdown if we don't win on Saturday. It is time we got our first PFL victory.
Looking forward to the game on Saturday.
I think it's a major disappointment if the Camels don't win Losing fairly competitive games against superior teams is one thing but there comes a time you need to win the games you should win and Morehead State is a game the Camels should win,No excuses on this one
Play calling will be very important. We can't do dumb things and expect to win. In last years game at Morehead State it was late in the first half and the Camels were down 14-0 and we were in our own territory and Morehead and forced us to punt. We punted and it was a ball that was going to go out of bounds inside the ten but the Morehead State player mishandled it and in doing some the Camels came up with the ball, inside the MSU ten. The first play I can't remember whether it was Carl or CJ took it inside the 5. The next play for some dumb reason we decided to pass the ball and it was intercepted in the end zone and returned 100 yards for a MSU touchdown. A 14 point swing on one play.Instead of going to the dressing room with momentum down just 14-7, the Camels were down 21-0 and it was over. The Camels can't afford to make bad decision and win against anyone, even teams they're favored to beat.As much progress as they've made their margin of error is still very small. Go Camels - Grasp that 1st PFL win!
I will disagree on this one. In my opinion I think a loss to Valpo would be a major disappointment. Morehead State has a victory over a scholarship program this year and several close finishes in the PFL that really could have gone either way. They are far better than Valpo is. Plus I think Valpo and their players have already given up on the season. I do hope we win and think this would be a great time for our first PFL win but I think Morehead State's defense is one of the better we will see this year based on their defensive stats and tackles for loss.

MSU leads the nation in rushing defense (allowing 62yds per game) and tackles for loss. Campbell leads the league in rushing (189).
I just think they should win this game. Apparently some folks don't think so but the majority of the posters on the Unofficial PFL Board feel that way and sooner or later you got to feel comfortable about feeling you should win a game. Maybe the thought of failing if they don't fears some. The Sagarin ratings indicate so. Maybe the word major should be left out but beating Morehead State is doable if we've made all the progress we think and if not then we should be disappointed in that. Valpo? If we can't beat them we're simply not where we think or hope to be. I just have high expectations.
Camels win! Any win at this time of season is good!! Congrats!
Congratulations to the Camel's On their first PFL league win.
Nice to see the win. The Camels played well. The team made some mistakes and still have somethings to work but it is great to get a win and shows real growth for the program. Congrats to everyone associated with the team.
Congratulations. I hope some of you can make it to Des Moines next week.
Good win today. We started slow but picked up the pace, got the momentum and held on. Nice play by defense in second half to get after the Morehead State quarterback. It makes a difference when you get pressure on the QB.
Good to see that Coach Steel decided to play Carl Smith the whole game. Got 120 yards on the day. Could have 100 yard game on consistant basis if coach would play him.
Overall good game and it is nice to have a PFL win. Now we can work on Drake, Valp and Jacksonville.
31-22 Final. 76 predicted 31-21.
Updates on the injury(or injuries) late in the 4th?
just got this tidbit of info. Paul Pizzuti received a concussion and was carried to the hospital as a precautionary tactic. hopefully he will be ok. [/align]
