Allen Iverson is not playing tonight for the Memphis Grizzlies because of a hamstring injury. Without his speed, A.I. should not be playing because that is his only weapon in my opinion. The Grizzlies are not getting any foul calls and are shooting contested shots, which explains why they are down by more than ten points toward the end of the third quarter.
Ben Gordon is being ben gordan, and the grizz don't or can't take advantage of him on defense. You have to make him play defense. If he's hot, too bad for the other team. Rip is shooting good and seems to want to match gordan's shooting. Marc and z bo are providing the frontcourt muscle with the rebounds and points even if the grizz are losing.
Looks like another long season for the Grizz.

The Memphis Grizzlies could not take advantage of the Detroit Pistons bad shooting in the third quarter of the game last night. When they were down by more than ten at the end of the third quarter, I knew the game was over in the end.
Worst 2nd overall pick ever.

Worse than Sam Bowie instead of Jordan ?

Bowie was a quality player who was just injury prone. He only looks completely awful because Jordan became Jordan. What about Jay Williams out of Duke? That guy sabotaged his own career with the motercycle accident. Thabeet is just a complete project, which is not what a #2 pick should be. I am willing to say with a high level of certainty James Harden will not become MJ #2.
On another subject, how many layups did the Grizz miss. Conley almost completely snapped a guys ankle only to miss a layup. OJ missed at least 3. Carroll's layup miss was laughable. The Grizz just had a dunk and then got a steal, maybe getting a momentum shift, and he blows the layup.
Everyone warned them about picking thabeet.
Thabeet is exactly what i thought he would be for this season in game 1. I actually felt sorry for him. Trust me when i say this.....every big dunker in the league can't wait to drive the lane hard and posterize him.
With the way they shot the ball last night, they should've taken Curry with the #2. There isn't a single shooter on this damn team.
You are nothing in the NBA without an explosive PG. Conley is absolutely worthless. He bogs down the offense, gets beat off the dribble, cannot shoot, and Rudy/ OJ obviously don't trust or like him. How can the son of a world class sprinter have such slow feet.
This Grizzlies team has talent but is lacking a floor general to get things in motion. Bury Conley on the bench. Start OJ at point with AI at SG. I cannot understand why Lionel is so enamored with Conley. Conley must have photos.
Don't even get me started on Thabeet.

Is not Allen Iverson a shoot first, pass second kind of scoring guard? I seem to remember that he has done this for every team that he has played for over his long National Basketball Association career.
