Hmm. That fat part up top appears to be creating a cylinder of air around the rest. I wonder if this is a new design to protect the body of the rocket from being hit by debris like insulation which has plagued the shuttle boosters...

The cylinder of air is the moisture in the air coupled with the shockwave effect of breaking the sound barrier......But, tends to look like this launch was sponsored by Trojans?
