Just didn't want to lose any power. A conservative court in this day and age will prevent them from pursuing their agenda.

Like any Supreme, you won't know what you have in Alito until he's been there for 5+ years and you can see what he's really done. Very little in his record makes me feel comfortable.
He's consistantly for big business over the little guy. He's the guy who ruled that a search warrant for John Smith the drug dealer allowed the strip search of Smith's wife and 8 year old daughter. When a policeman chased a fleeing 15 year old into a backyard and saw him climbing a fence, and policeman stepped up and shot the boy in the back of the head, Alito ruled that it was not excessive force.
We'll see. I hope for all our sakes that he is a man who will make judgements based on the law and not on ideology, that he will be contemplative and not dogmatic.
I fear, however, that he was deliberately chosen for his ideology and dogma.

and what's wrong w/ that? drug dealers are known to hide drugs in various places. the search warrant covered the property, and the daughter and wife were on the property. seems legit to me.

I thought that was legal. Searching people on the property. Maybe not, now I want to go check.

I hope your eight year old is never strip searched. I really don't think anyone's should be without a damn good reason to.
