In the wake of Saturday's debacle at Toledo, I figured the board could use some upbeat news. If anyone is aware of roller derby, you know how popular it has become. Well, my wife is a skater for the Kansas City Roller Warriors, and last weekend the KCRW All-Star Team placed second in the South Central Regional Tournament, punching their ticket to the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) National Championships in November. While my wife is not a member of the All-Star team and skates "only" on one of the four house-league teams, she (and the entire league) is jacked up about the girls going to Nationals. KCRW is trying to become the first team to hold multiple WFTDA National Championships, as they won it all in 2007.
So, at the risk of being a homer, go KCRW!!

P.S- As info, the Chicago area has a roller derby team as well: the Windy City Rollers. They are also competing in the WFTDA National Championships, and are actually one of the favorites to win it all.
