All I have to say is...BOUT TIME!

I have been getting so sick of badminton and not rugby in the games. I hope the Eagles will perform well...I got to go be in Paris when the World Cup was going on and it was an exciting time (btw, the All Blacks are huge).

It is such a great sport that is relatively unknown in the States. I had the pleasure of starting a team at my high school (Collierville) and my college (Freed-Hardeman) and am looking to start a team where I am now (although this is to just coach some kids), so it makes me happy to see the sport that I love get exposure.
All the ladies will be happy...

Though it is a hardcore sport.
did you know the US are the defending olympic gold medalists?

of course, the odds of anyone on that team still being alive are pretty low...
It's actually a more safe sport than football. The hits are a little lighter. The problems come in knees and elbows finding their way to the face (which happened to me last time I played, though it was to my right pectoral and knocked me out for a couple weeks).

I often try to describe it as a cross between American football and Greco-Roman wrestling (the tackles). I wish Amer. Football required the PAT to be the way conversion goals are scored, perpendicular to where the ball crossed the goal line, but as far or as close as the kicker wants. That'd make it a bit tougher, and remove the "automatic point" thing.

Hey I heard there was still a team at Collierville in 2008, was that true? I went to Freed with a guy who played there but he never told me how strong the team was. Is there still a team now? It makes me proud everytime I heard about Collierville rugby if it is still going on (even if they suck).

I have seen rugby on Fox Sports and Setanta Sports, but it is still kind of hard for me to understand what are the fouls and how scoring is determined in that game. It is indeed an interesting game and congratulations it is in the olympics. I wish baseball and softball were still in Olympics, though.

Every time you score a try you get 5 points plus 2 points for a kick afterwards. Fouls are usually committed due to offsides or a forward pass, although a high tackle is usually common as well.
The addition of Rugby to the Olympics should do wonders for the sport in America. I'm excited to watch it, and it should create a lot of interest with the younger crowds.

I'm even more excited about golf being added, though. That's going to be awesome.
