It was reported in the Tuscaloosa, AL news about my wife's Grandmother, Mary Gentry who was the 27th oldest documented person in the world, when she died in her sleep on Tuesday. She was born in 1897 and was 112 when she died. She was reported as a 3 year old on the 1900 census.

As far as we know she has never been to the hospital and took one aspirin a day. She was living with my Mother and Father In Law, when she died.

wow ! bless her heart !
Ole girl had a pretty good run.
That's fantastic! She spanned three centuries. Imagine what all she saw in that time! Did she have any vices we should take up?
I could probably live that long if I wasn't married.
William McKinley was President when she was born. There were 45 stars on the flag. She was 45 when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and she was 72 when we landed on the Moon.
Amazing life...hope someone takes the time to write her life story.
Sorry to hear that. I'm banking on adding ten years to my father's run. He's 85 (I was a late child).
If I make it to 80, I'm taking up smoking.
