record isn't good enough to get us into the post season, I just can't see any scenario where we can, as long as we're in the SBC, unless we win the tournament. I know that's not what our fans want to hear, but it's the dreadful truth. Without a tournament win, under the present situation, I doubt we'll ever see the post season. And that coming from the eternal optimist.

I don't think any team in the SBC will get an at-large look at all without 25 wins, including several against BCS teams.
We've had at-large invites in the recent past. Why not this year?

Well maybe because we're not good enough. But, if we are, I think this year's schedule gives us the opportunity for an at large bid to, at least, the NIT. Combine last year's conference record of 15-3 with wins over WKU, Memphis, Creighton, Tulsa, and Wright State and there's not way we're left out of the NIT or NCAA.
Oh, ya, what do you consider the "recent" past?
The "we" as in the Sun Belt. MP's post was about ANY team in the SBC getting an at-large.

Sorry, I missed that. I agree this year is as good as any to get 2 teams in. It would probably involve WKU winning the league and then getting upset in the tournament. I don't doubt they'll be the class of the league, but they certainly can be upset in the tourney.

It could happen, but it won't happen with 23 wins.

If we have 23 DI wins, going into the tournament, we'd be on the NCAA "bubble" depending what we did in the tournament. Two wins in the tournament and we'd be in. Of course, at the point we would have 25 DI wins and 27 wins overall.
With 20 wins you are on the bubble if you are Florida or Michigan, not SBC.

I think its going to take either a perfect storm of our regular season champion racking up a lot of wins and a high rpi (but then losing in the conference tournament)...
...or its going to take our bottom feeders winning more non-conference games. With Denver, FAU, FIU, and Troy all seemingly on the rise this is very possible.
