I think this is a smart move and smart timing, the design is just a little off. I'm sure a lot went into this and many creations were voted on but I'm not sure this panther is the one they should have went with.

The "GSU" letter is something KSU should go after. I think a secondary logo could be marketed better than what we currently have. The owl head is a nice mark. We need something that is like the "GT" for Tech or the "G" for UGA and "GSU" for state. Visible from afar, easily recognized and colorized enough for the school.

Finally I would like a tweaking to KSU's logos, not a complete redesign. The owl head is fine. "KSU" need updating. The eyes are killing me. It was a fad with Auburn and KSU took it too far. It's way to limited on how it can be recreated.

I'm in the business. Sorry for talking shop but it's all of 10 of us on here so what the heck.

I too like the new lettering for GSU. However, the Panther is a little off to me as well. I think an alternative logo would be awesome for KSU. Also, and Nick you might know a little more about this than me considering your experience, but as we've discussed on here before there is a third color of a brick or maroon shade that is unseen in anything KSU save for the seats in the Convocation Center. Why don't they make a logo that implements all three colors? Also, since we're on logos and such. The KS on the hats of the baseball players to me are so outdated and seem completely contrary to anything seen on campus. I have thought this ever since seeing the hats when I first arrived at KSU. Maybe that's more tradition I don't know, it's just my personal opinion.

It'd be fun to do something like this. polish it up a bit

I personally like the idea of dropping 'State' altogether. It isn't like we are the State of Kennesaw. Even though we are a state university, I never thought the whole State thing worked...just my personal opinion.

So Kennesaw University, or University of Kennesaw?

I'd be fine with Kennesaw University but don't mind State in there. We're a state university as opposed to a private school so it fits.

The one thing that sucks is that there's hardly any good chants that Kennesaw State Owls works with.... what are you going to do? Hoo at the other team?

Long proponent of the Kennesaw Knights. Could keep the same colors and everything.

I've always thought we should drop the "state" as well. I like Kennesaw University. Troy did the same thing when they moved up to div 1-A with football. They dropped the state and are now just Troy University.

Kennesaw Basketball chanted in the same way as Detroit Basketball works great....I don't know if I can explain it properly on a message board but here is my best effort:

If that makes sense. If you have ever watched the Pistons play they do it all the time.

Kennesaw University works great. There are no other Kennesaw's, so putting the state in there just lengthens an already long name. Straight Kennesaw gets more pop on any sort of advertising or logo work.
