Another Memphis Music legend gone too soon. We've lost too many over the last couple of years. Prayers for his family.
RIP Jim. You were always very good to me.

Through conversations with others I had heard that he was in bad shape. I met Jim just a few times, and he was great to me. He was a very cool man, and his contributions to the musical culture cannot be overlooked. My prayers and thoughts go to his family. He was one tremendously talented man.

Missj, everytime I hear wild horses, I immediately think of Jim.
Jim did play piano on the Wild Horses record.

Very sad. Prayers to his family.
Fruck. I've had friends and family dropping like flies, lately. I met Mr. Jim once when he was playing in a club. He was a gentleman and humored me.
Oh man, that's terrible.

So far this summer we've lost:

Michael Jackson

And over the course of 3 days--

Les Paul
Rashied Ali
Ted Weber (known only to musicians as the man who brought about a renaissance in guitar amplifier speakers)

and now Jim Dickinson.

This has been a rough summer and an especially rough week for music.

I'm thinking of just staying in the house for the rest of the summer.

Seemed like a good songwriter and a protest singer, that's for sure. Rest in Peace, man, and may your music live on forever in the hears of many people.
