Joe Jackson will visit UK in Oct. A few posters there seem to think if JJ goes to their Mid Madness, then he will be a Wildcat. Cal + UK Madness = no way Jackson leaves without committing.

Thats their perspective on it.

Any "official" word from the Jackson camp confirming the timing of the visit?
i guess they really think justin timberlake is going to show up.
Nice application lenetzach!
Yep. So will Irving, Knight, and Selby. So UK will get 5 PG commitments over that weekend.
And Eric Bledsoe will....

JT doesn't know squat about that, lol. Cal is just trying to gain "cred" with his pack of lemmings. There has been no contact about any show, free or otherwise, and doing something for free is not going to get JT off the golf course or out of the studio.
Irving and Selby will end up playing for Calamari more than likely... Irving is Worldwide Wes' nephew and we all know Selby's story...

Joe Jackson is the kind of kid that won't play second best to anybody... Only Eric Bledsoe was stupid enough to believe Calamari...
I thought Irving was Strickland's nephew and not WWW.
2010 recruits, hell reality had better set in at catspause for this year, first there is not a real 3 point shooting threat(Xavier whats up) plus Bledsoe and Cousin maynot qualify. ouch!!!!!

UKGREGG is sharing his thoughts in another thread over there about how much hatred he has for this city. yes of course the crime here sucks but constantly crying about it on basketball message boards isn't going to help anything.

my thoughts exactly... if kentucky is so GREAT, why dont he just work there?... i oh forgot, kentucky is SOOO great.. there are no fires in kentucky... the sky is always blue, birds chirping, squirrels talking, rainbows, cool breezes. hey, i even heard that the SUN actually has a smiley face on it when it hovers over Lexington!! And now their new basketball coach has learned how to call timeouts, keep 9 point leads, and (get this) he DOES his job for his love and passion for the sport and NEVER for the benefit of himself $$$. He is up for the nobel peace prize and has won numerous humanitarian awards... he is on top of the world and from my understanding, he is "dream"ing right now... there is no place else he would rather be... so if the Lakers threw the bank at him to coach one of "the most storied" franchises in sports history with all sorts of incentives, he would respectfully decline, cause it gets no better than kentucky... *sarcasm*

im just saying, my heart feels for those fans, cause they think we are delusional, but they dont understand right now that Calipara is a car salesmen and to be a sucessful car salesman, the first thing you have to sell is YOURSELF. and thats exactly what he has done in having them think that Kentucky is his "dream job"! any job that puts him on a higher stage and positions him for more success ($$$) is his "dream job". But they take some warnings as us just being bitter, cause they are still high on a rediculously talented recruiting class... *sigh* I know kentucky fans and if cal did them the same way, i honestly dont see how he would have escaped lexington..

I'm sorry for getting off of the subject fellow TIGERS, but after reading that stuff i just had to get some things off of my chest. I'm good now!!

Have you not already got the news that Bledsoe and Cousins have already qualified weeks ago and have been taking classes at UK. Keep dreaming, this team will all be out there this year, and is it not a little low to make fun of a young mans speech. I would think living here in Memphis you would be use to mush mouth talk God knows between the city officials and and every employee at fast food services here we hear this language daily.
Wow I am a coward, why because I speak my opinion and the truth, so I have been called a racists and now a coward amazing. I am not going to argue with you about who I am and how I feel about the people in Memphis, Like I said in my post on CP there are good people in Memphis and I help and work with them everyday and that I would love for Memphis to be the city it was 15 - 20 years ago, that is why I chose to come here in the first place. But what it has become and how and why it has become this city that is seen as a war zone and a terrible place to come to is shameful. When you have people in this city who just keep taking from it and never give back then you get what we have today. Nothing would make me happier then to see King Willie get the hell out of here and the people of Memphis vote someone in office who is there to better the city instead of people just trying to keep that political position black, not saying a black person can not do the job, just saying in the past people in Memphis votes have been made on a feeling of obligation to keep these positions from being white, these are not my words but words of preachers and community leaders through out this city during any type of elections in this city. I am sorry that is why Memphis is where ir is now.
This has nothing to do with a basketball team or a coach leaving, I believe alot of you agree with me because I see you guys and talk to you everyday so I know how you feel, but since I am a UK fan and talk about these problems on a UK board you get pissed because you are confusing my critisms of your favorite basketball team with this city that you all got your familys the hell out of here, and the only time you have anything to do with this city is on game night. Look in the mirror you see me because alot of you feel the way I do, but because I am a UK fan I become the enemy. I give alot to Memphis so I feel like I have earned the chance to speak my mind, but donot confuse my critism of a city with the critisms of a basketball team.
And yes I would move back to KY if I had that opportunity, but I do not at this time. But I still have family and friends here so I would want to see this city get it together because I would visit.

Wah, Wah, Wah, Wah, Wah, I've lived in Memphis all of my life and have visited a lot of other big cities and they have the same problems that Memphis has, the only difference is that Memphis reports it's crimes and the others don't. In other words the other big cities pretend they don't have crime by not reporting in the newspapers as headlines or as breaking news on the local tv stations.

Well that is all the inspiration we need... get it together so you will come back and visit. You complain about the image Memphis has, while at the same time perpetuating the myth that the entire area is represented by what you see on the "first 48."

Your posts both here and on catspause are shameful, you bash this city to gain favor over there. I might take your criticisms more seriously if you could actually spell the word criticism.

Please do not post here anymore... I doubt anyone is going to take up any of there time reading what you have to say anyways.

You try to come off as being sincere in your criticisms of Memphis and it's civic/social problems...bull***t!

You went out of your way to start a "Cal in Memphis" thread on a UK message board that had nothing to do with Cal visiting Antonio and everything to do with a cheap opportunity to take potshots on the city that pays your salary.

I don't like the city's leadership (King Willie, Fullilove, etc...) and social woes either but I usually keep silent unless asked my opinion...and I sure don't start threads on a rival sports message board (that has nothing to do with politics I might add), for no other reason than to bait their fans into responding with snide comments. Pathetic.

What I am hearing you say is that there are no opportunities in Kentucky. It must be a sad state of affairs that someone so disenamoured with Memphis and so in love with Kentucky cant find a job in the whole state
Never mind. This doofus just isn't worth fooling with.
God those people on CW are huge idiots, why would you even read a message board like that? One of those guys in that thread is making up 10 paragraph stories, several times, about memphis having dealers and hookers on every corner downtown, and thinks he is being hilarious and original. Thats really typical UK humor. That place pisses me off.
One thing that I've learned over the years is that you can choose to be a part of the solution or a part of the problem. Sounds like UKGregg has made his choice. I have chosen to be a part of the solution by supporting Memphis and promoting it every chance I get. No we are not perfect but who is. We've got a great city with some wonderful individuals. This guy sounds like an OK guy but with the intelligence of a 6 year old. I would suggest moving to Kentucky. It would increase the average IQ in Memphis and Kentucky if he did.

Don't get the fact that you work for the fire department confused with you doing something for the city. You get paid a nice wage in order to do so, that is why you cannot relocate to Kentucky because you cannot replace the income.

I think all of you anger and hatred towards the area comes from being passed over for a promotion you feel you should have received. If that is not the definition of bitter I don't know what is. Get over it.

If you feel you are not getting recognized for the work you do change fields/jobs? If you currently do not have the qualifications to change fields go to school and get em (lord knows firemen have the time). Constantly complaining about what "they" did to me will not make you happy or change anything. Change what you can control, take control of your life and quit pointing at everyone else as the reason you are where you are.
