For anyone interested. Unless the cut line changes he is out. I think, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, but this is only the second time he will have missed the cut in a major. Pretty impressive.
Two extremes today with Watson tied for the lead and Woods heading back home.
Unbelievable!

If you want extremes then look at Ben Curtis. -5 65 on day 1 and 1 off the lead to a +10 80 on day 2 and missing the cut.

How much does that suck?

I thought originally was not Tom Watson suppose to do some commentary for the Brotish open? I guess he will be too busy now playing go play and give some commentary, good luck to him this weekend in Scotland. Tiger Woods had never played on that course before this week and it sure showed those two days he played.
John Daly made the cut at even par.

Yikes -- that's golf for you I guess. That's one nice night of sleep followed by a 'what the hell happened today' night of sleep.
Best thing that could happen for golf. They are spending too much time pushing and focusing on tiger and the rest of the sport is being ignored. Time to focus on the game itself and get away from the tiger lovefest.

That is quite true regarding the network TV puts too much emphasis on Tiger Woods, but that is because he makes them too much money. If someone else pulled the same rating as Tiger Woods, ABC, ESPN, CBS or NBC would put a spotlight on him. It is ultimately better for golf to have another star, but it takes ultimately time for a new star in golf to develop.

Well, I turned on the British Open this morning and watched it for five minutes before I realized Tiger was not even listed among the scores for the day so far. I deduced he must have missed the cut. So, because I am not an avid golf fan and just love to watch Tiger play, I promptly turned off the TV and made more room in my weekend schedule!!

Thanks, Tiger. Better luck in your next tournament.
I just can't accept the way they treated him with kid gloves ever since he entered the tour. Too many others have been blasted for bad behavior on the course. Throwing of clubs, cursing loudly after bad shots. He seems to have gotten free passes no matter what. I am still waiting to see if any other player gets to declare a 1 ton boulder as loose impediment.

Their has been a couple of golf commentators who has had complained bout the way Tiger acts, but those announcers have been criticized for that as well. Golf is supposedly a gentleman's sport, but as expected not everyone act as a gentleman at all times.

The sport has grown due to tiger but at what cost. Behavior that one would never expect to see on a public or private course 15 years ago have become common place these days. Respect for your fellow players, loud talking, even music playing can be found on the courses these days. Leaving kart in way of those playing behind you as you leave green and go to next tee. Actually saw one person drive their kart ON TO the green.
