Updated: Police investigate toddler's death in southwest Birmingham
Posted by Carol Robinson -- Birmingham News July 01, 2009 9:42 AM

Authorities are investigating the death this morning of a toddler in southwest Birmingham.

Investigators aren't sure if foul play was involved. They are searching for the father, who is wanted on outstanding warrants, and left before police arrived.

The baby's mother, a 16-year-old pregnant with her second child, was not at the home.

Janiyah Nicole Hale, 1, was discovered by her grandmother at her home in the 300 block of Third Street S.W. in the Loveman Village public housing community, said Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Pat Curry.

Authorities were called to the home at 6:25 a.m., Curry said.

Birmingham homicide Sgt. Scott Thurmond said an investigation is underway. The father, 28, pleaded guilty last year to second-degree rape for having sex with the underage girl.

He is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.

He is not now a suspect in the baby's death, Thurmond said.
I'll tell you what's wrong- these people are procreating. Like a good friend of mine once told me: "The human species has evolved as far as it ever will because the idiots are outbreeding us."
Well, when the zombie apocalypse arrives, we won't have to worry about them.
God almighty.
