This review might answer that question. And I'm pretty sure the review is more entertaining than the movie will be.

Classic

Quote:The more pathetic Sam gets, the more Fox's lips pout and her nipples point, like little Irish setters.
This line made me laugh out loud:

Quote:LaBoeuf projects a pathetic, wall-eyed dorkhood, when he's not babbling like a tumor removed from Woody Allen's prostate that somehow achieved sentience.
Action-wise, this one was head and shoulders above the first one. Story-wise, I could've written a better story...and I have writer's block 90% of the time.

The story was good enough to make the movie interesting, and the acting didn't get in the way of the action, exactly how it was supposed to be. Watching a Michael Bay movie for the story is somewhat like watching porn for the plot.... you are doing it wrong!
I could've done without the twins, though...

They didn't really bother me, but less of them and more of someone else might have been better. People seem to forget that Bay was making a movie targeted at 10-18 year old boys.... crude humor works for that demo....
I will be seeing it tonight at McWane Center. I know the critics are blasting it. One fanboy's comment I read said "Transformers has all the fart jokes that Dark Knight was missing". Pretty sure i'm going to like it regardless, I loved the first one.

If you own the Blu-RAy you can watch some exclusive clips and features online via BD Live.

The IMAX version is tough to watch.... Hard to follow the action and a lot of left to right, back and forth. Saw it there last night, but I hadn't seen any other regular movie in IMAX. I actually want to see it again in a regular theater, because I feel like I missed parts of the fight scenes.

As far as reviews, people need to take the movie at face value, it is a movie based on toys, aimed at 10-18 year olds.... crude humor and so forth are to be expected. It is meant to be a fun action movie, not a deep drama!

I'm with Joe. I didn't forget Bay was making a movie targeted at 10-18 yr old boys; but Bay seem to had forgot it.

That said, it was a decent movie and Fox is worth the watch. And I thought the humor was funny.

Okay - you are were right on about the IMAx. the IMAX experience is well.... an experience. I certainly can't recommend it one bit. My neck is still sore. Picture is not that clear... you can see lines from the grid in most scenes and plenty of screen artifacts. Surround sound was not impressive to me as all of the speakers are all placed above you, which means basically in front of you since you are looking up the whole time.

I think it was a good movie. I plan on seeing it again in a normal theater. I loved the first one. If you liked the first, I think you'll like this one. If you diddn't like the first one, this one is more of the same.

I personally do not think of this movie as being targeted first at 10-18 year olds. To me first, it is targeted to the Gen-Xers that grew up with transformers in the 80s.
The more critics hate a film the more I want to see it. It seems all they like anyway are serious, period romance and or drama type movies starring gay frenchmen.
Just saw the movie and I liked it. I'm not going to rave about it but I don't think it's horrible. It's also pretty obvious they left the door wide open for a T3, which is no surprise.

My negatives:
- The damn non-stop 360 degree viewing. That nonsense got old as soon as I started feeling seasick. It reminded me of a scene in Bad Boys II when they were in a gun fight in a house. However, it was necessary then because it was giving the perspective of those in the gun fight.

- The "Bourne Identity" close up fight cam making it hard to tell who is beating the snot out of who.

That's it.

I didn't have a problem with the twins and didn't see them offensive in any way. I actually thought they were pretty funny. The audience was predominantly Black and I didn't hear griping about those characters but did hear a lot of laughter.

Pretty good movie. The CGI is amazing.
I can't believe no one has mentioned the talented Miss Megan Fox.
She really came into her own in this film! If she doesn't receive a Grammy then there is no justice in the world.

actually the movie could have just been one long scene of her running in slow motion and I would have been fine with that....

just sayin...
It's a Michael Bay movie. This means you have just barely enough plot to hold the thing together while they blow a lot of stuff up, Hollywood style, plus a little skin.

You want a good movie where stuff blows up, go see "The Hurt Locker".
I read a story about its $200 million haul over the weekend. It was called the worst $200 million movie ever made by several critiques. A Hollywood executive said, "We don't care what the critiques say. The fans want to see us blow stuff up. That's what we did. Apparently, it worked."
Thats a great line. Makes sense too. There are maybe a few thousand film critics in a country of 300 million people. Movie studios are in the business of making money. You make money by giving the masses what they want, not the film critics.

I thought the racism applied to the two twinbots was blown way out of proportion. They were clearly trapped in the 60s and 70s. But the languague that they were using wasn't always appropiate especially considering the amount of children attending the movie.

Now what I question is you going to a movie like TROTF and the crowd was predominantly black. Either you went to the hood to watch the movie or you went to a Magic Johnson theater. Otherwise, you lying like no other has lied.

Yep, that explains Creed and Nickelback.

Eh, I'm not a big fan of either one. It seems that most alternative that followed after Creed tried to emulate their sound and play style.

I'm pretty sure MC didn't mean that as a compliment toward creed or nickelback.

I was just stating my opinion. Do you like Creed or Nickelback? I'm more of a mid-60s through early-90s classic rock, easy listening, heavy metal, southern rock person myself. I guess I'll go ahead and throw in the band that started the "grunge" genre.

I went to the movie in Atlantic Station in Atlanta.

I agree with you guys about the supposed racism. Talking hip-hop slang is not an exclusive "black thing". One of the voice actors was white, and one was black. They have said they wanted to portray these two as "wannabe gangsters". If you spend any time with kids, you know there are as many white kids as black kids that fit this profile.
