I am out of the prediction business regarding soccer scores and the U.S., for I do not know which U.S. team will show up. I don't know who is going to win that game tomorrow. I figure Spain will play well, and the only way the U.S. Men's National Team can win is if they attempt to play physical and knock Spain around.
Forza America!
I predict a hard fought 1-0 loss. David Villa will score in the 35th minute and Tim Howard will block a penalty kick.

Then we will light up South Africa 3-1 in the 3rd place game.
Del Bosque recognizes that the U.S. side is evolving and improving, and can pose some difficulties in mid field and attacking. http://www.fifa.com/confederationscup/ne...roving+usa

If the U.S. can score early on and/or more than once, and plays smart defense, it could surprise, but Spain has won like 15 matches in a row, and are on a roll. Regardless, there is respect for a U.S. side which has reached the semis ahead of Italy. Good indicators.
In all honesty, our only chance is to get this to PK's. Play great defense for 120 minutes and see if Timmy can pull us through to the final.
I hope he doesn't just pull back and play defense for 120 minutes. That almost never works out (exception, see Barcelona v. Chelsea this last season). But even then, it's a crapshoot. We field a super defensive side and they manage to score, we won't be prepared to try to get one back. Then again, we field a slightly more offensive minded side, hoping our defense can hold out, we might get thrashed.

But all in all, we really don't have much pressure on us. All the pressure is on Spain now with their unbeaten run. If we get destroyed, no one will think anything of it (except us), whereas if we were to beat them, even on PKs, they'll never hear the end of it.

If we don't field a super defensive side and can keep possession somewhat, we could potentially nick a goal here or there. I just want to see the team play like they want to be there.
We have to do the super defensive side unless Coach Bob has the balls to put Adu or Torres out there. Without one of them, we don't have the creativity in the midfield to keep possession against Xavi, Cesc, or Inesta.

Our main problem on D is going to come from overlapping runs down the flanks. Bornstein and Spector are as slow as Beasley is horrible.
In my opinion we should play very offensive. If we lose by two it wont be a surprise and it will be what everyone expects. The only way to pull off the upset is to just say we are gonna win and shove it down their throat.
I expect Bradley not to change a thing.
Squid, I'm hoping that he doesn't change anything. Bob tinkering with the lineup hasn't done us any favors in the past.

Taking bets....First card for Rico Clark:

-Over or under 40 minutes
-Will it be a yellow, or direct red
I just want a good match. No stupid man down for 70 minutes BS.

The US just can't pick a coach to save their lives
We should go get the guy who is coaching the Russians now.

Guus is amazing. We only had him for a few months at Chelsea, but we all fell in love with him. Absolutely awesome coach.

Who is Chelsea coach for next year, by the way? The had Scolari for ten months and fired him because he couldn't get the job, and Guus did a great job for the Chelsea team. Isn't the team owned by Russan oil magnate?

Carlos Ancelotti from AC Milan is the manager now. Everyone wanted Guus to stay on, but he was committed to managing the Russian team. Even Roman wanted to keep him, but he couldn't.

And yeah, Roman is loaded. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Abramovich
Guus is staying on as a "consultant" or something-or-the-other at Chelsea. From what I understand he is just going to help out Ancelotti in transaction decisions but it is a very nominal role.

Good to see Bocanegra back. What was his injury? Didn't he miss like two games?
Anybody got a tv link for this game? I don't get ESPN360 at work and channelsurfing.net doesn't appear to have anything. Also, for some reason, justin.tv doesn't usually work on my work computer. I just get some picture of a gorilla with a video camera.
We've got to play with incredible heart just to keep this one respectable. An upset would be EPIC though.
Damn mosquitos are there again.

We are playing well so far.
Did ya'll know Tim Howard has a house in Germantown? Apparently he used to do stuff with the Collierville Lobos a couple years ago cause my sister was just telling me how she met him a couple times
US is playing really well. Gotta keep the energy level up for the entire game.
Why does our first touch always look so poor. We never seem to keep that ball right on our foot like some other teams.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!
GOOOOAALAAAAALLLL!!! ALTIDORE!
I expect a red card soon.
Wow.
Altidore is a strong dude.
Why no foul there?
Obvious yellow. attaboy altidore
Tim Howard rocks.
End of the first half. U.S. 1-0 Spain
Hope is kindled. We're playing well, though I don't like all those set pieces happening down on our end.
Holy crap! I hope Howard can hold! We HAVE to stay aggressive though! We won't last against Torres and David Villa long
What subs do you think Bob will make? I'd replace Clark with Feilhaber. He might give us a bit more possession in the midfield. Any little bit more possession we have is less they can use against us.

But for Gods sake DON'T PUT IN BEASLEY.
Did I mention Tim Howard rocks.
Onyewu sucks. Howard is the man
Not playing too good so far this half.
Need to hold the ball a bit. Too much time of possession for the Spaniards.
These minutes feel like hours
I think we are going to need another goal to pull this one out.
oh man..this is gonna be a looong game. US needs to be better with the ball!
