My only interest in the NBA finals was to see Pau win a championship. I met him once while he was playing for the Griz. He was rehabing an injury and he came to workout at the pool where I swim laps. I talked to him for about 10 minutes during one of my workouts. He was a really friendly and wanted to know about swimming as a regular fitness activity. I'm glad to see him got a ring.
I'm happy for pau too.
I respect phil jackson and kobe, but i'm not fans of those two or the current laker team. The only laker team i actually liked had magic, cooper, scott, worthy, and kareem.
I am sick and tired of hearing people calling pau names like gasoft. Pau plays with heart, he has a smart bball iq, and he has good skills. Yes, he isn't always dominating, but he is a quality big. I like pau for what he can bring a team, and he fits in perfectly with kobe.
If this playoffs doesn't wipe away the notion that pau isn't a good player, then those people don't know basketball. He was as big a reason the lakers won the title. Before him, they were just over .500. Now they have been to two straight finals, and he has his first ring. Pau brought 15 points (while shooting over .500) and 10 rebounds at least every game during these playoffs. Some nights he brought more. So when the title is up for grabs, he delivers with 14 and 15.
Imo, consistency is a very good quality in the nba.
The lakers would not have won without him. Yes, kobe is the star, but pau makes them more of a team.

Congratulations for pau gasol, good luck in his future. I hate the one-sided nature of NBA teams especailly, Pau Gasol for a lpractically a loaf of bread. The players at the NBA are the most athletic players in the professional sports world. Will the Lakers win another game? Who knows what the future holds for the LA Lakers.
