How much of a home court advantage has the Jack become? Alltel never was to any great extent that I saw. Just too empty. At the two games i attended last season (Creighton and WKU) I thought the crowd was a factor. Not intimidating yet, and may never be given the makeup of our fan base, but I think it is far better than it used to be.

In my estimation it is just a size factor. You get 4500 to 5000 real bodies in the Jack and you have a wrap-around crowd that makes the place look full. In Alltel (soon to be Verizon

), even with the upper deck curtained off, there were about 3000 empty seats on the end zones of the lower bowl and bigger gaps on the sides.
The only difference was this year's student section activity. Many of you remember the "tipsy club" back during the first season in the new building. That group is not even half of what we were getting with what we get down there now.
Of course my live attendance over the years has been sparse. I am basing most of this on photos and reports from fans.
